"Watch out!" "Hard to port!" A loud crash resonated from the lower levels of the Lucky dawn, the ship of the Sunrise kingdom's Royal family.
and over the course of 2-3 weeks the captain and crew of the Lucky Dawn have been experiencing streaks of bad luck with things around the ship, for example just now they were moving a crate and some items the heir of the Sunrise kingdom Arancia and his little brother Thery packed for their trip over to the fairytale kingdom to visit Thery's uncles Vie and Amare and his cousins Dimicatio, Pugna, and Sagitariorium.
"What happened?!" The other king of the Sunrise kingdom Citrus asked the crew members "sorry your highnesses, one of the ropes holding the crate and luggage snapped" a Yellow Steve explained before going down to the lower levels to check for any casualties.
"Damn! That was the eighth time this month!" Citrus muttered in Anger, Arancia looked to the sea before turning back to his father "father do you think this is the work of sirens?" Citrus looked over to his second oldest child before lowering his head and answering "I don't think so, you know Sirens are only from fairy tales and legends" (Fairytale by alexander rybak literally started playing when I started typing fairy tales and legends 😂).
"Okay but hear me out, weren't the Royal mermaid families keeping watch over the oceans?, why would the oceans start acting up when the royal mermaid families haven't been at war with us in 100's of years? You think something happened to them?" Arancia questioned, which got Citrus thinking as well "you have a point Arancia, but still if the legends are true then I want you, Thery and Light to be careful on your way to the Fairytale Kingdom".
"We know da, we'll be careful" Thery said as he hugged Citrus before boarding the ship, Citrus gave Arancia a hug, turning to Light who was the Lucky Dawn's captain, giving him a hug as well before heading back to the castle.
Arancia boarded the ship at last and headed up to the bird's nest (you know that circular balcony near the top of the ship's mast?) And looking out to the clear blue, taking the beauty of the ocean that slowly rose up on the beaches of Sunrise.
He always loved to look out into the ocean, hoping for something to change in his life to gain a sense of adventure.
.......he will soon wish he was careful in what he wished for.........
"Hey Light! Are there clear skies for the rest of the trip?" Arancia got a blunt in response before he got an actual answer "yes Prince Arancia as far as I'm certain there are clear skies for the entire trip" Light said before turning back to his map and wind dial and compass "aw come on Light! I'm your brother, you don't have to be so stoic with me.." Arancia said before hearing a thunderclap farther in the distance, "uh you hear that?" Arancia spoke in caution before climbing on to the top of the wooden post in the center of the bird's nest.
"Uh yeah I heard it too but...... Mermaids don't control thunder......" Light muttered, fear and realization creeping further up his spine ".........siren's do........." Arancia spoke before a thunder bolt hit the sail in the front of the ship causing the boat to shake and Arancia to fall back into the bird's nest.
"Ouch....." "That's what you get for climbing on the post" Light spoke in a scolding way, "ugh! Scold me later we got to put that fire out!" Arancia said as he grabbed a rope and swung down to the main level of the ship and grabbed a nearby water bucket and rushed over to the fire on the sail, with Light following close behind.
"Arancia, you stubborn Steve wait!" Light didn't get much farther before another lightning bolt caused a fire to separate him from his little brother Arancia, 'dang it bro!', while Arancia tried to get the fire on the sail under control he lost his footing after a thunder bolt hit to close to him, causing him to fall off the boat with a yelp.
Hitting the surface of the Ocean Arancia tried to get sense of his surroundings before he noticed someone swimming towards him, he thought it was one of the crew members until the person moved to Arancia's left, causing him to notice the tail, Arancia let out a short yelp before remembering he was underwater and closing his mouth before more water got in his lungs.
The sea creature heard him and started charging towards him with a trident, before another crashed into the one with the trident and whacked them away with their tail.
Arancia couldn't see who was the other sea creature that saved him cause his vision was darkening, he would have passed out had the sea person who saved him from the other one not grabbed him and brought him above the ocean's surface.
*gasp* *cough* *cough* "who.....are you?......." Arancia asked weakly The person didn't speak he only looked away from the ship to see his friends had apprehended the rest of the team that attacked the boat.
"Arancia are you ok?! Where are you?!" Light called from the deck, Arancia didn't notice he was moving before he saw himself being carried by the person who saved him, with some of the water lifting them both up.
At that point Light saw who saved Arancia and was surprised, "a mermaid Royal? But why is a royal here?" Arancia finally noticed the Royal decor of the Mermaid and was surprised to say the least, a few seconds later the royal's two main guards lifted themselves up with the water to the mermaid prince's level and helped place Arancia down on the deck, before lowering down so the prince could talk to Light alone.
"Apologies for the sudden intrusion, our scouts reported a team of Sirens heading this way so we had to intervene" Light was quiet until he cleared his throat and spoke up "if it was to keep the oceans safe then it's no worries, just a heads up would be nice, although I haven't asked your name yet" the mermaid feigned a look of shock before giggling slightly "my apologies how rude of me to not introduce myself......."
