"Oh my God, thank you God!" I repeated as my tears fell on Kyri's shoulder. "I missed you so much." I cried harder, my grip on her grew tighter.

"Y'all literally saw me every week" Kyri chuckled as she rubbed my back. "I was only gone for five months"

"Bitch shut the hell up before I unmiss you" I let go of her then wiped my tears.

"Don't ever do some dumb shit like that again" Tiz spoke to her for the first time.

"I won't, I promise" Kyri stupidly held out her pinky with a smile on her face.

Tiz rolled his eyes then wrapped his pinky around hers. A smile broke out on his face as he pulled her into a hug.

Tiz silently cried as Sin laughed at him. "You big ass baby"

"Fuck you nigga" Tiz muttered then dug his head further into Kyri.

Kyri laughed as her eyes welled up with tears. "I missed you too" she whispered to Tiz and continued to rub his back.

My best friend was finally released from jail after being locked up for five months. Her original sentence was ten months for a misdemeanor but her charges were dropped.

Now we're planning to surprise her with a welcome back trip to Puerto Rico because that's one of the only countries she can travel to.

A few hours later
At Sin and Zina's house

"So bitch how does it feel being free?" Xavier asked Kyri as he propped his elbows on the counter.

"Xavier-" I cut myself off when I saw Syx walk in the kitchen.

He looked good

Syx looked me up and down then nodded as a greeting. He walked past me to put the Jell-O shots in the refrigerator.

Don't get me wrong, even though we made up, it will always be tension between us. I literally got into a relationship with my old side nigga and he stopped talking to me because of it. Our relationship probably will never be the same.

He smells so good

Xavier nudged my shoulder with his and whispered to me. "Stop looking like you miss your baby daddy bitch."

"I do bitch" I whispered back and continued to finish up the sauce for the salmon and potatoes.

"I know you do" Syx spoke into my ear. I turned my head to see him hovering over my shoulder.

Our faces were so close, if one of us moved an inch, our lips would touch.

I leaned in a little then looked at his lips. "You should because I told you that I do the other night." I smirked and turned back to my sauce.

"You look pretty tonight baby." He whispered before I felt his presence leave out the room.

Baby?

"This motherfucker just called me baby!" I whispered to Xavier.

"Y'all are going to be back together soon, I'm calling it." He smiled at me.

"Nah, let's not go that far and get our hopes up." I shook my head at the idea.

There's definitely been a lot of moments over the years where I wanted Syx back but I truly don't think that he would ever leave the streets. On top of that, we'll have to rebuild our trust which is going to take a while.

"No, I'm telling you that you'll get back together. The way you look at each other says it all" he put the top back on the pot of mashed potatoes.

"I just want y'all to have another baby." Kyri shrugged.

"Why are we talking about this like that man not in the next room?" I looked at her like she was crazy.

"We hope he hear us." Zina chuckled. "You know he still loves you right?"

"I know, he told me" I looked down at my hands when I felt all of their eyes staring at me.

"HE DID?!?" They said in unison.

"Yea. I told him I still loved him too."

"Okay so why are y'all being awkward and not back hunching on each other?" Zina asked.

"Zina hush" I rolled my eyes at her loud ass. "I'll only rekindle things when he leave that street shit alone, he knows that. But I know that I'll have to gain his trust again if we do get together again."

"Well I hope y'all mend things romantically but can we eat? I'm hungry as fuck" Tiz popped out of nowhere to announce his hunger.

My eyes widened. "You heard all of that?"

"Yes, y'all are loud as fuck. Is the food ready?"

A few hours later

We all ate, played cards, and some of us got tipsy. The few of us that was sober is me, Zina, and Syx.

"Now bitch you know we love you" Xavier was in front of the living room with a bottle of don julio in his hand. "And you know that we're happy you're back?"

"Yea?" Kari's eyebrow raised in suspicion.

Tiz dropped his arm on her shoulders. "We love you so much that we wanted to surprise you with a welcome back trip to..."

"PUERTO RICOOO" we all jumped around and yelled.

"Y'all lying?" Kyri waved us off.

"No we for real hoe" Zina laughed and hugged her.

Kyri poked her bottom lip and tried to hold back her tears. "Y'all lying?"

"No we're not ri" Tiz chuckled and pulled her into him. Kyri covered her face and sobbed into his chest.

"I love you guys so much" she lifted her head up to say.

"We love you too cry baby" Sin laughed at her but rubbed her back.

"Bitch you got to pack your bags in a few weeks." Xavier drunk ass hopped up and down in excitement.

Syx leaned into me for the second time that night. "We might have to give her another nephew while on the trip. That's what she wants right?"

I froze in my spot.

Another what?

"It'll be a perfect opportunity to work on us." He looked down at me with a smirk on his face. "You alright Kemari?"
