THE CALL OF A SIREN
In a world riddled with pirates, bounties, and lost twenty-year-something treasure, mermaids would seem to be the last thing on minds of humans sailing the All Blue. Mermaids stayed within the cushy confines of the Fishmen District, in a haven away from prying fingers and fishnets. Emerald, a mermaid of sorts, but a mermaid, nonetheless, has never thought about going back to her life within the Fishmen District. Having left her home a few years ago, with her little sister swimming behind her, they sought out to quench a thirst that wouldn't go away―the taste for human flesh!
(Emerald and her sister were sirens! Descendants of the first mermaids. The half-woman half-fish sea creatures that lured sailors and pirates with sweet songs of empty promises and love to their death, consumed by a mysterious need to feast on man!)
In their travels, they came upon pirates, Fishmen pirates, one's that would give them safety, security, and a familiarity of home. They were named the Arlong Pirates, lead by Arlong the Saw. After being a part of their crew for some time, Emerald was given the opportunity to aid the human recruit, Nami of the Cocoyasi Village, by Arlong to acquire the Grand Line, a map leading to the One Piece left behind by the late King of Pirates Gol D. Roger. But along the way, Emerald's loyalties begin to shift once meeting the loud and high-energy Monkey D. Luffy.

The events of this book will follow Netflix's Live Action of One Piece. And to let people know, this is a Luffy x OCxArlong. Also, I've (obviously) changed the backgrounds of mermaids in the OP world a bit. This book also takes inspiration from the Polish movie The Lure and other mermaid content.
