Around four o'clock a.m., silent as a mouse, Chester twisted his room doorknob to not disturb Aaron from sleeping. And he found that his roommate had been in a deep sleep.
Put down his backpack onto his messy desk, where papers piled, four or five books overlapped and one of them was left open, also laptop left unfolded. He then took out the folder that Stacey gave, stored it in his desk drawer, and finally a brown legal paper-sized envelope from Joseph. He moved his backpack onto the floor below his desk, then sat on his chair.
Chester tore the envelope and started reading. Silently, carefully, page by page, line by line. With a can of half left coffee, and another emptied can.
After almost three hours reading in deep silence, Chester had noticed several important pieces of information and made a brief note in his book about the past three months-case.
The Black Hood. 2012
Identity: null; East Asian physical look, 5'10" height, and shoulder length hair. Age: approx. late 20 - early 30
Murder motive: uncertain, schizophrenia, paranoia.
Casualties: random
Murdered 15 families in California, New Mexico, Texas, and Mississippi within 6 weeks. 4 murders in Texas happened in Dallas and Arlington.
Dallas murder: Crimson Creek; casualties: Henry, Andrews, and Ueda Family.
Henry & Andrews:
March 23 : Homicide at Andrews's house. Marc & Melissa Andrews were killed, the rest of the family members were missing. Marc's gun was lost.
March 24 : early morning Melanie Henry was found dead in a car crash, Jackie & Elle were abducted by culprit.
March 31 : Chris Henry got shot by culprit at Kirei Ueda's grave. He was with Shoujin Ueda. Shoujin Ueda was then abducted. Chris couldn't make it at a hospital.
April 3 : Elle, Jackie, Shoujin, & The Black Hood were found. Jackie and Shoujin were found at 315 Leone Alley, Dallas suburban, with serious injury.
The Black Hood was found dead in the same location as Michelle Henry was found unconscious, 2 miles away from the building where Elle and Shoujin were found. Culprit's dead by random, deep stab wound in chest and abdomen—3 in chest, 2 in abs. Killed/suicide, unconfirmed. Same unknown substance as the substance which was found in Shoujin's body was also found in The Black Hood's body. Marc's gun was found at the location where Michelle and The Black Hood were found, with The Black Hood's fingerprint.
Marc's projectiles were found in Melanie's head and Ueda spouse's body. Chris's projectile was found in The Black Hood's left arm.
An unidentified projectile is left stuck in Michelle's head.
No identities of the casualties and no homicide chronologies were attached in the report, except Henry's and Andrews's. Legally reasonable. Nevertheless, the case is closed while there might be another killer. Somebody might be quite depressed to shoot himself in the head, but randomly stabbing his own trunk is something else. Not explained if the case was taken advance to another felony case. And no identity of The Black Hood, not even an alleged name. Odd.
Chester dropped his pen. Clueless.
Last, Chester opened again the page where the picture of The Black Hood's dead face was attached, focused on the man's shoulder lenght-hair. Then he made an assumption about where the name 'The Black Hood' came from. It could be the culprit always wore a black hoodie. Maybe. Later on, he recalled the moment when Michelle was frightened across his house fence that night. He wore a black hoodie, and his hair was untied. It could be relatable.
Chester dropped his pen, clueless. And he fell asleep on his desk. It was a few minutes past seven in the Saturday morning.
