In the realm of life's whims, my desires seemed but a distant echo. Yet, fate had a peculiar plan in store. Unbeknownst to me, I found myself entranced by his very presence. His eyes, a tapestry of hazel hues, held a captivating comfort that stirred a twinge of envy within me.

He was right in front of me, but I couldn't bring myself to look at his face. Maybe it's because I've never been in this situation before. I used to dream, just like any other girl my age, of a fairy tale love story. But Mr. Ahmed shattered those dreams too. Ever since Mama passed away, he has changed. He's not my Baba who used to love and care for me. Now, he only loves and cares for Inam. Not that I'm jealous or anything! It's good that at least she has someone she can call Baba, unlike me.

My bond with Inam is strong, even though she's my step sister. That nine-year-old girl has a captivating charm that attracts people, including me. And let me clarify, she has no connection with Mr Ahmed. Yeah! Ever since his marriage to Mrs. Faiz, I started addressing him as Mr. Ahmed, which he doesn't mind. He once asked me why I stopped calling him "baba," but I didn't give him an answer because I simply don't feel like calling him that anymore.

About Mrs. Faiz, I don't know what relation we share! It's just a relation of greetings. In the beginning, my nani said to call her Mama, but that small word felt so difficult to pronounce for the other lady instead of my Mama. Sometimes I miss her, but I miss my baba too! He is lost somewhere in this world, right in front of me yet so far.

After Inam was born, I started living at Nani's place. Sometimes I go to check on Inam, and she also comes to meet me. Our bond has grown stronger because of these moments.

Mr. Ahmed still takes care of my financial needs, even though mamu told him not to. But he said, 'Whether hoor believes it or not, whether she calls me baba or not, I am her baba, and that cannot be changed. So, I will take care of her needs, no matter where she lives. I just want her happiness.' That's when I realized that my baba is still there for me.

But he shattered that tiny glimmer of hope by deciding my marriage without even asking me. He didn't even bother to inquire whether I wanted to get married now or not. I'm on the verge of saying I despise him, but that's such a weighty and immense word that I'd rather not use, especially not for him.
