And just then, I realized, the dagger had pierced my stomach. The pain shot through me instantaneously and I felt it all. From my head to my toes.
Then I collapsed.
What was two seconds of a dagger in my stomach; felt an eternity of agonizing, excruciating pain. I can still hear Delli's screams as if they were in slow motion. Everything feels as though it's spinning around me.
Is this what I get for thinking I was the chosen one, for thinking I am destined for something greater than myself?
I can't move at all. I can just feel my head and body against the cold, hard stone floor. I have basically lost all vision but I can hear Delli screaming and struggling, fighting against someone. I think my eyes are closed but I am not even sure anymore.
I struggle to take one last breath and then I stop. I can't breathe anymore. I can't hear anything at all. No one is around me.
There is just nothing.
