-Part 2-

Yesterday was weird, I had a good day, I hung out with Erica and Sarah afterschool but then Erica left really suddenly and then we were joined by Ethan Morgan and Benny Weir. Dorky as they were, they could actually be a lot of fun, but the entire night we were together they would be talking in secret and it felt like they were hiding something from me. 

Today was even weirder, I received a text, from Jesse. I didn't even know how he got my number, I had been staring at the text all morning "meet me here afterschool today -Jesse" followed by an address. I told Sarah, she told me not to go, but  couldn't just stand him up, he hadn't done anything to me "I'll be there" I replied. After a moment I got dressed and Sarah picked me up again "Sorry about yesterday, I know me, Ethan and Benny were talking in secret quite a lot, I just, needed help with something, It's nothing really, I felt horrible talking in secret but it was necessary, you understand right?" She said as we pulled into the school parking lot. I nodded and smiled at her before getting out of the car but it felt like she wasn't 100% telling the truth.

I started heading to class when I felt a tap on my shoulder, when I turned around I found gas station guy "Hey" I smiled. "Hello, I see you got my text then. Glad you agreed to come" He chuckled and began to walk in the same direction as me, I began to look around and he somehow knew I was looking for Sarah. "she won't see us, I saw her in class already"  He said to me while simultaneously ushering me to continue walking "Okay, and, by the way, my answer could still change. And, if you don't mind, can I ask, how did you get my number? I know I didn't give it to you" I looked up at him and watched as the corners of his mouth stretched out into a smile "Erica, she owed me, and it was an easy fix, she's not exactly the easiest person to talk to" "Huh, tell me about it" I laughed "She's been my friend for years, so I know how difficult she can be" I laughed, we spoke for a little while longer until I reached my geography classroom.

"Hey Ethan can I borrow a pen" "Shh" "I'm asking for a pen, sir" I rolled my eyes and turned back around to Ethan  who handed me a pen, but as I took it from him, he had an out of body moment, like he went to a different place, and it was pretty hard to miss, when he snapped back I asked if he was okay, but he only answered with a nod and asked to go to "The bathroom" but I somehow knew he was going to Sarah for something, and I wanted to know why. "Sir, can I go to the bathroom?" I asked, holding my hand up into the air "Wait for Ethan to return" "I can't sir, I really need to go" "Why? Is it that time of the month" "Yes." I lied, earning a few giggles. The teacher paused for a moment before dismissing me and sure enough, when I peeked around the corner, Ethan and Sarah were talking. "She's going to see Jesse, tonight" How the hell did he know that? "We have to stop Jesse, I'll try to talk Saraya out of seeing him" "Okay." Ethan turned around and saw me in the hallway. "Raya? wait, don't go!" Sarah shouted, running over to me and gripping my arm. "No! Why should I stay? Something is going on, and I wanna know what? If you tell me, I'll stop talking to Jesse" I was quite annoyed now but, this was the only way they would get what they want, and tell me what the hell was going on. Sarah paused, glanced over at Ethan, who shook his head, and turned back to me "I can't, for your safety" "Right. Okay then, I'm still going, I'll be fine. I know Jesse might've done something to you, but to me, you're his ex, and he's been really goddamn sweet towards me, and I have nothing to fear" She tried to stop me from leaving again but I pushed her away.

The rest of the day I avoided Sarah, I still spoke to Erica, and she was more open about me talking to Jesse. Benny and Ethan approached me a few times to try and talk me out of going to Jesse, but they made their mind up, and so have I. I got changed and had something to eat before leaving to go to the address Jesse had texted me, it was a park, behind the church. I arrived a little earlier than Jesse but it wasn't long before he showed up. "I'm glad you're here" he said, approaching me. "Glad to be here, so, why did you bring me here" "Well, I wanted to get to know you, outside of small talk during school hours, I feel... a connection to you, I want to explore it" he replied, a smile on his face, I smiled back and he took my hand in his as we began to walk. We were talking for a while, getting to really know each other and that's when I began to feel the butterflies in my stomach, like I was beginning to look at him as more than just a friend, he was so kind, and gentle, he was patient and I was genuinely beginning to think we could more than friends, but I didn't say anything to him, yet. As it grew darker it got colder and Jesse must've seen I was getting cold because he pulled me closer to him "What-" "You're cold, I can see it, Saraya, you're at the point of shaking" "Uhmmmm_" "Fine, here" He took his jacket off and handed it to me "I can't take this from you, you'll be cold" "I'm fine, really, put it on" he stopped walking and didn't start walking again until I put the jacket on. We were talking for a little while longer when he abruptly stopped. 

"You okay?" I asked but he placed his finger against his lips, telling me to be quiet, The silence was almost deafening as he looked around for... "Sarah!" I shouted as she jumped on him, wielding what looked like a wooden stake. Jesse, out of instinct, pushed me out of the way so I was at a safe distance and I watched in horrified shock as they rolled around. It was impossible, but their eyes changed, both had brown eyes but Sarah's now were an Amber-gold colour, and Jesse's became an Icy blue, and they both had.... fangs. Benny and Ethan grabbed hold of me "What the hell is going on!" I shouted, my best friend and new found friend still engaging in a fight. "It's hard to explain, but we need you to come with us. Before they could take me anywhere, Sarah screamed and we turned to find Jesse on top of her, overpowering her. He had thrown the wood just out of reach for her and now he was talking to her. "Bad move, Sarah! I've been here for a long time, which means I'm a lot stronger, more powerful than you, attacking me while I have this much strength, come on. We've had this battle before, but now you don't have the Cubile Animus to protect you!" before he did anything, Benny jumped in to rescue Sarah, talking in what sounded like Latin and a beam of light shot from his hand, directly into Jesse's chest, throwing him off of Sarah. I ran over to them both and Sarah got back up "Raya, come on!" "No! What the hell was that?!" she looked at me and shook her head before leaving with Benny and Ethan following behind.  "Jesse, are you okay?! Is there anything I can do?!" he groaned and shook his head, it took him a while to get up "Actually there is something you can do, look at me" I turned around and faced him.

Jesse:

He placed her under a trance "Forget this happened, you didn't see my face, Benny, Ethan and Sarah were never here, I tripped and fell. That's it" Saraya stared at him "You tripped and fell" she repeated back to him before blinking and snapping back from the trance. He could've let her keep her memory, but she was very clearly terrified and Jesse didn't want to scare her. He wanted to tell her what he was, what Sarah, Erica and Rory were, but under his own terms, not because it was forced out of him.  If he wanted to figure out why she looked like Sabrina, he had to have her trust him, and fearing him, wasn't an option.
