Using her energy, Maya is able to move objects without touching them, but it exerts a great amount of effort often resorting in her bleeding from her nose and eyes. She also gets a nasty headache if she tries to lift anything bigger than a small rock.

Backstory
Maya was orphaned at a very young age, abandoned on the steps of the orphanage. She spent a good portion of her life at the orphanage, passed up for adoption time and time again for her unsettling disposition. She was eventually adopted by Trinity Winters and came to Queens, New York. She befriended the neighbors kid, Faith Quincy who had an unusual fascination with the occult. This bled over into the girls older years, where they would sneak into abandoned buildings to conduct "paranormal investigations". Only one went horribly wrong. The girls were attacked, leaving both bloodied and Maya in critical condition. Maya still refuses to talk about what happened in the house.
Faith was killed a few months later by Hemlock, a killer obsessed with Maya and her newfound abilities.
