It was the last dance of the year and he just had to go. His name was Carter and he was one of the coolest kids at our school. Everyone at school loves him because he was cool and really funny. But for some reason I don't think he likes me and I don't know why. I mean, look at me. He is so cute and has had 3 girlfriends so far. I don't know why those girls even broke up with him. Who would give up a boy with sparkly blue eyes that gleam in the sunlight like the ocean and who was really hot hair? I wouldn't !

I looked towards the clock, two hours away until the dance and I haven't even picked out an outfit yet! I really needed to get my game on today, if I wanted to be there on time. I surely did not want to look sloppy when I went to the dance, so I picked out a cute chevron shirt, denim jeans, and a pair of sperrys. I also curled my hair to get the right finishing touch. Then, I went into the bathroom to put on a dab of lipstick and a little bit of mascara, making sure that I didn't put too much makeup on.

After I was ready to go, my mom and I started to head out the door when the phone rang. I ran into the bedroom to answer it. It was my best friend, Avery. I met Avery last year at school after she moved here from Virginia. She said that Lily said that Carter was going to be at the dance. I got so excited that I hung up the phone immediately, ran out the door, straight into the car and yelled at my mom to hurry up. She finally got into the car, started the ignition and we drove off to school.

When we arrived, I saw that there were cars waiting in line out front of the school. The kids were not getting out. Everyone was waiting for the doors to open so they let there kids out to have the greatest night of their lives . Being in that line made me more nervous about how one mistake could ruin my middle school and possibly high school life. My stomach started to feel a little queasy. As the line of cars started moving forward and letting kids out, my queasiness got worse but I soon calmed my self down just in time to get out of the car. Before I got out of the car to leave, my mom gave me a twenty dollar bill for the admission fee and a little extra for a snack and dinner. As I walked into the front door I handed the lady my twenty dollar bill and she gave me sixteen dollars back and let me in the door.
