A shrill ringing noise surrounded the bedroom of the penthouse apartment at 7 a.m. The sun beamed through the tall windows and cast golden rays of sunlight onto the bed and the bedroom floor. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the weather was almost perfect.

A little, brown Dachshund puppy came trotting into the room, mustering all the strength in its little legs to hop up on the bed, bounding over to the body submerged under the covers, and placing its paws on the sleeping mound.

A manicured hand suddenly reached out of the covers, blindly tapping on the phone screen to attempt to turn off the alarm. A woman's feet slipped into the fuzzy slippers at the bedside as the little brown Dachshund bounded beside her.

"Mmm, hi Biscuit, you wanna call off work and sleep all day?" Biscuit let out a bark and the woman sighed.

"You're right, duty calls and so do these damn bills," she muttered, shuffling to the bathroom with her puppy following behind her.

The hot shower was running, and the bathroom filled with steam as the woman hummed to herself and washed up, her melanin skin soaked with bubbles and gleaming with steam. After getting out of the shower, the woman wiped the steam off, revealing you looking in the mirror.

You looked down at Biscuit, who was looking up at you. You leaned down, rubbing his small head.

"Okay buddy, let's get our day started,"

You began to do your skincare, using an array of serums and creams, moisturizing your body as you watched Real Housewives of Atlanta on your iPad. You got dressed, putting on a black bra and panty set, then sheer black stockings with lace tr at the top that went up to your mid-thigh.

It was covered by your black pencil skirt that fit up around your waist and was a bit shorter than your navy blue skirt. You paired this with a white, silk blouse, and dainty, gold necklace with gold earrings, and a small, gold Van Cleef watch.

You went to your kitchen, made yourself some Chai tea with your coffee maker, and poured out some food and water for Biscuit in his dog bowls, the little puppy trotting up and lapping up the food. You grabbed yourself a banana nut muffin as you lovingly watched your puppy be the most adorable thing on earth.

You head back upstairs to brush your teeth, and then afterward went to your vanity to do your makeup. You did some foundation, concealer, and powder, put on some dark brown eyeshadow, and lined your eyes with black shadow, giving you a Smokey brown sugar, sultry eye look. You put on mascara and your signature wine-red lipstick sprayed your face with setting spray, and sprayed yourself with brown sugar-scented perfume.

You slipped on your black Christian Louboutin heels, grabbed your blazer and your purse, said goodbye to Biscuit, who was drinking happily, left and locked your apartment, and headed to your black Audi RS7. Once you arrived at the building, you took your employee tag out of your purse and locked your car, taking a sip of your tea as you clocked in.

You walked into the building holding your things as you went through security. You said hi to them as they checked your belongings and checked you, and then greeted your other coworkers as you walked to the desk. You didn't mind the stares, you just figured it was because you were new.
