After a long while, Shizuku composed herself and began to move again to find Hajime.
As she was moving, she started to encounter powerful monsters along her way, from wolves that shoot electricity to rabbits that move at the speed of sound.
All those monsters might be powerful in their own right, but for Shizuku, they were nothing but fodder for her to level up. During the time she fought those monsters, she came to learn the effects of her new skills. One such skill was Blood Lust, which was similar to Kouki's Limit Break that triples all his stats. However, Shizuku's Blood Lust had one unique advantage—it doesn't have a time limit.
Although Shizuku knew it didn't have a time limit, she still thought there might be some drawbacks to this skill of hers.
She also discovered her other skill called Auto Regeneration. It was a skill that healed her body no matter how injured she got. Even if she lost her limbs, as long as her head was attached to her body, she wouldn't die.
But there was one skill she didn't know how to use, and that was Vampirism. She tried to activate it but couldn't, so she decided to ignore it and focus on her current goal of finding Hajime.
Currently, Shizuku was facing a giant white bear she found while walking.
"HAHHHH!" Shizuku let out a defiant yell as she tried to cut the giant bear with her broken sword. The bear, seeing her attack, defended itself using its giant claw.
*Clang*
Shizuku's broken sword and the bear's claw clashed against each other, generating yellowish sparks due to the force of impact.
Seeing that her attack was blocked, Shizuku decided to use Air Dance and leaped into the air. While moving in the air, she could see the monster fully. Using her superior agility, she landed behind the monster and immediately used her sword skill.
"Thunder Flower," she said, unleashing a flurry of slashes toward the monster, which had no chance of blocking her attack before it died.
"Phew, that was a bit of a stretch," she said, looking at the monster's body and her Hands She realizes that she is no longer human, she possesses unmeasurable strength she doesn't feel tired and what's more she doesn't feel hunger at all.
After a few minutes, she decided to move on and keep going forward.
"Just how huge is this place?" Shizuku said as she navigated the endless landscape. Suddenly, she heard a sound that shouldn't exist in this world because the technology to create it had not been invented yet.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
Shizuku was sure of it; it was gunfire. But she was confused—who in this world would have the knowledge to create such a thing? Realization hit her immediately.
There was only one person in this world who had the knowledge to create such a thing.
Without missing a second, she ran at full speed toward the location of the sound. When she arrived, she saw a man with a masculine body, white hair, and a severed left arm fighting a claw bear, the same kind of bear she had fought earlier.
Shizuku wondered who this man was, but then she caught a glimpse of the man's red eyes. She saw the resilience in those eyes; it was a bit different, but there was no mistaking it. The resilience in the man's eyes belonged to someone she knew since childhood—her friend Hajime.
"Dang, you really are annoying," Hajime said as he threw a flash grenade toward the monster, blinding it with light.
Hajime took this opportunity to drink some ambrosia he had with him, but he didn't expect the claw bear to attack even though its eyes were blinded by the light.
The bear was already in motion, its sharp claw aimed at Hajime's head, leaving no chance to dodge. Suddenly, something appeared in front of him and did the unthinkable.
*Slash*
The figure that appeared in front of Hajime slashed the bear's hand, cutting it cleanly. The figure didn't stop there; it proceeded to cut off the bear's head as if it were butter, killing it in the process. It took Hajime a moment to register what had happened, but after he realized he was saved by someone, he immediately put his guard up.
In the next moment, something unexpected happened.
Hajime felt a soft, smooth sensation pressed against his lips. He realized the person had just kissed him.
While being kissed, Hajime got a good glimpse of the person taking his first kiss. He realized it was a girl with long snow-white hair tied in a ponytail.
After a while, the girl let go of Hajime and looked at him, tears flowing from her crimson red eyes.
"I...I...I missed you, Hajime-kun. I thought I had lost you," the girl said as she gave Hajime a tight hug.
"Ahh, sorry to be rude, miss, but who are you?" Hajime asked, not realizing the girl in front of him was Shizuku Yaegashi, his childhood friend.
"EH?" Shizuku replied, not knowing why Hajime didn't recognize her.
