Me and my friends are waiting outside school to be picked up, my friends are going on and on about some tv show; all I can think of in this moment is that I won't be here again Monday. I'm scared out of my mind shaking in my boots if you will...my friends don't know. For the five months I've know I'm moving, I never told them. I really don't want to leave them;they're my everything and I don't wanna lose them. Im mentally preparing myself to tell them. Okay I can do this.
"Can I tell you guys something?"
"Lovey whenever you say stuff like that I get scared..."
"Yeah Veyvey why you gotta set things up like that"
"Guys I'm moving!"
There was silence for a minute. I mean you should've seen their faces, they seemed devastated.
"My dad's job is getting moved to the city. We're going to New York."
"Veyvey that's so far.."
"Lovey you could... stay at my house, my mom
loves you!"
"Gracie, I have to. You know I do."
Gracie started to cry, and Bao started to comfort her. I felt so bad I should have told them sooner; they would've had more time to process. I could tell Bao was about to breakdown, but he was staying strong for Gracie. I went over to Gracie and hugged her. I said sorry to both of them, we all shared a group hug: we said our final goodbye as I headed to the car.
