Chapter 2

*8 months later*

You walk downstairs to your grab your purse before you leave, and you hear your phone ring. You glance down and see that it's a Face Time call from Dan, and can't help but smile. You answer, and you're greeted by his smiling face.

"Y/N," he starts, "What are you doing today?"

"Going to see a movie with Lydia. Why?" you ask.

"Can you call me back at like 7? I have something to tell you." he says.

"Uh, sure." you say. "Can I ask why?"

"Nope." He says, smiling. "It's top secret". And then, he hangs up. You laugh and go outside to wait for Lydia to pick you up.

*Later that day*

"Y/N, would you put your phone down!?" Lydia says. "The movie is going to start in a second, and you are going to ruin it with your texting! Who are you texting anyway?" she asks, and you feel a surge of guilt. You have been talking to your favorite YouTuber Dan for about a eight months now, and you still haven't told her yet. As far as she knows, you have been texting a boy you met at summer camp named Dan.

"I'm talking to Dan." you say, and technically you aren't lying, but it still feels wrong. It's not that you don't want to tell her, but you worry that she will be sad that Dan gave you his number and not hers. So you have kept it a secret.

"Well turn off your phone!" she says.

Halfway through the movie, you remember that Dan has a secret, and you text him.

"The suspense is killing me. Can I at least have a hint?"

 Ten minutes later he replies, saying "You are so impatient. No hints for you!"

*Later that day*

You check the time, and let out a sigh. Only 6:30. At 6:40 you decide to call him. After only one ring he answers.

"What part of call me at seven do you not understand?" He says, and you can practically hear his smile through the phone.

"I'm sorry! I'm just really bored and I want to know the secret." you say.

"Alright, are you ready?" he asks.

"Well, obviously!" You say.

"I will be in America tomorrow, and I will be staying only about an hour from your house." He says, and you nearly drop the phone.

"What?!" you yell. "Dan, that's awesome! This is going to be so fun! I will show you all the best places, and take you everywhere!"

"I will only be there for two days." He says, and you are a little disappointed. "Only two days?" You ask.

"Aww!" he says laughing. "I was just kidding! You got so sad!"

"You are the worst." You say, laughing.

"So, see you tomorrow?" He asks.

"Oh, I suppose." you say.
