You wake up slowly. You debate whether you want to open your eyes, or keep them closed and fall back asleep. After thinking for a minute, you decide to sleep more. As you feel yourself start to drift back to sleep, you suddenly remember that Dan will be here today, and your eyes shoot open. You practically jump out of bed, and grab your phone to check the time. It's 9:34, and you have a text from dan.

I can't wait to see you later! Text me directions to your house, I can be there at 5!

You feel your heart beat speed up as you realize you only have 7 hours and 24 minutes to clean your house and get ready. You run downstairs and turn on the radio, and begin cleaning. After about two hours you really want to take a break, but you can't stop moving around, so you keep working. You're wearing fuzzy socks and sliding all over the hard wood floors, and you fall two times, but you don't care. Today you feel like you could take on the world.

You check the clock. 5:01. You look out the window. Nobody is there. You glance at your phone. No new messages. Then you repeat this cycle, until the time is 5:07, and you see headlights coming down your street. You feel your phone buzz, and you look down and see that it's from Lydia.

Had a super bad day :(

Again, you feel guilty for keeping Dan a secret.

Sorry! Can we FaceTime later and you can tell me all about it?

Why can't we talk now? I need to vent!

Crap. What do you say? You're still thinking of a reply when you hear the doorbell ring downstairs. He's here!

Mom has friends over and we're playing a board game. Gtg.

For the first time in a long time, if not forever, you are lying to your best friend. You don't have time to feel guilty though, because before you know it you are on your way downstairs. You take a deep breath before you open the door, and try to collect yourself. You open the door and feel your heart speed up to about twenty times it's normal speed. He's actually here, smiling and gorgeous as ever.

"Hello." he says in the most charming accent you've ever heard.

"Hi." you say back, and you feel your face flush with embarrassment. After standing there staring at him for a few seconds you invite him in, and he follows you to your living room.
