4. THE PIRATES ARE COMING

Something had stirred me awake. I don't know what. Maybe it was the bells that rang in town. As I exited my room I saw Nami. "Hey, Nami. Wait up." I said as I caught up to her.

"Have you seen the others?" She asked me and I looked at him.

"Not in a while." I said to her and we went to where I thought Luffy could be. The kitchen. And there he was. Asleep. But there was no sign of Zoro.

"Luffy. Luffy." Nami said and he wasn't waking up.

"Earth to Luffy." I said, we then saw that the bowl that contained Kaya's special food was empty. I looked to see Nami hitting Luffy's face but nothing.

"Luffy!" Nami shouted and we had to move him.

"I'll help you." I said to her as I took Luffy's legs.

"Oh, come on." Nami said and Luffy still wasn't awake.

"Yes." We heard Khaladore say. It was time to hide. "Do you understand?" We heard him say and we abandoned Luffy on the table. We had to hide. Away from each other. I was hoping that they would leave soon. "What is he doing here?" He asked who I could see was Buchi and Sham. "What's wrong with him?" He asked. I was hoping that Luffy would be ok.

"Little guy couldn't get enough of my latest recipe. I was chasing the perfect balance between bitter and savory. Just wish I could've asked him how it tasted." Buchi said and I hope that did mean what k tgiyggt it meant.

"It tasted like poison, idiot." Sham said, had they been poisoning Kaya this whole time.

"Not while I'm the cook." Buchi said to her. I didn't trust these guys.

"You're not a cook. I'm not a maid. We're pirates." Sham said to her and I knew there was something wrong about them. Zoro was right. What if they did something to Zoro?

"Sell yourself short, Sham, but leave my cooking out of- -" Buchi started he was then cut off.

"Enough! I can't hear myself think over your inbred nonsense! Now, how much of the soup did he eat?" Khaladore asked and I was hoping there wasn't anything in it.

"Uh...all of it." Buchi answered and that didn't sound good at all.

"How fortuitous. Go ahead and toss him in the well with the green-haired oaf." He said to his crew. I wanted to gasp when I heard that guy I didn't. I held it in.

"Aye aye, Captain." Buchi responded and they started to pick Luffy up.

"And don't you dare track in mud all over my floors again." Sham to Buchi. Clearly some things they needed to work out.

"Says the maid." Buchi said making her gasp. Soon their plans were interrupted. The bell went at the front door.

"Who'd ring the bell at this hour?" Sham asked and who knows. Hopefully the Marines.

"Just stay put. Understood? Let's not allow the night to get the better of us." Khaladore said before leaving. I was hoping that soon Buchi and Sham would follow soon after. But they didn't. "Buchi, the Marines are here. They've come to collect the drunken Straw Hat Pirate. Bring him to the front of the house at once." He announced over the system. This wasn't how this all ended though.

"Marines. What are we gonna do?" Buchi asked and I was hoping they'd turn themselves in.

"Nothing." Sham answers.

"But what if the Straw Hat talks?" Buchi asked making Sham scoff.

"He drank enough of that soup to kill a sea beast. Stick to the captain's plan." Sham said and they carried him out.
