My mum drops me off at the gate. I close my eyes and let out a deep breath, this is High School, the place where either your dreams or nightmares come true.
I am really nervous as a sling my dark blue bag over my shoulder and walk through the gates.
I need to make a good first impression I think as I make my way through the crowd of teenage girls and boys that are quite literally sweating with anxiety.
I am boiling hot as I finally arrive to my class, I look around to see the class room half full, and I carefully pick my seat: close to the back but not at the back, and next to a pretty blond girl that I have a feeling I will need to befriend, and in front of a cute boy with longish gold hair that frames a baby
face.I sling my bag under my desk, and build up some confidence to talk to the blondie next to me.
"Hi" I say confidently with a grin
"Hey" she says back "what's your name?"
"Tara,what about you?"
"Sophie" she says sweetly, as she stands up. "Can you come with me to sign up for the cheerleading squad? Because I have been waiting for some one that can actually be my friend." She says sassily, with a cheeky grin, and then adds, "Plus I wouldn't want to be looking like a loner on the first day"I smile, already deciding I want to be her friend, and reply, "yeah, sure, I was gonna sign up too!"
"Cool! We can be cheerleader sass queens" she says with a pout as we set off down the hall to the sign up sheets.
We talk as we walk, already seeming like partners in crime, and as we sign up I laugh to my-self as I remember how I honestly had no idea there were sign up sheets.
