Obanai ran away from home, knowing well of the consequences he would receive. He was only a little boy; He didn't deserve the pain his family put him through. He turned back, taking sight of the serpent demon chasing after him. The white, little, pet snake wrapped around the little boy's shoulders was startled, as well.
Eyes widened, lips trembling, legs shaking. He placed his arms up defensively, trying to avoid the serpent demons attack, before it was suddenly beheaded. Obanai gasped lightly with a surprised expression as he looked up at the swordsman. It was a tall and fit man with long blonde hair and red strokes on the ends of each strand.
Iguro tried to recall what just happened, and he eventually realized that the serpent demon was beheaded by the swordsman. Obanai's eyes were still widened, but he felt reassured to see the serpent demon disappear into ashes. A minute later, the swordsman turned back to look back down at the little boy.
"Are you okay?" He asks with a stoic expression. He looked slightly scary, but the boy knew from the determination in his eyes, that the swordsman wasn't going to cause any harm to him. Obanai slowly nodded, placing his hand in his chest as he stared up at the man with a relieved but blank expression, his cold sweat disappearing. The man eventually called out to a familiar name.
A noise came from the distance, and a little girl appeared. Her eyes widened as she saw the little boy, and she immediately ran to the little boy, slapping him on the face. The swordsman was startled, and he immediately placed his hand on the girls shoulders, pulling her away gently, distancing her from Obanai.
"Because of you, the whole clan was killed!!" She yelled out angrily, tears starting to well up in her eyes. She continued to shout at Obanai, but his guilt avoided him to hear what she said properly, "Calm down...", the swordsman said to the girl. The girl was still frustrated with Iguro, but she eventually stopped; The girl crossed her arms, clicking her tongue as she continued to glare at the little boy.

.It's been three days. The little girl was adopted, but the little boy, and his pet snake were not accepted, due to his appearance under his mask. The swordsman felt tranquility and pity over the little boy, and he eventually made the decision to take in Obanai. He was not adopted, but he was taken in until he was going to get adopted. Of course, this would mean the little boy and his snake would have to meet the swordsman's family.
Obanai and the swordsman had conversations as they were heading to the man's estate. His name was Shinjuro. Shinjuro Rengoku. He stated he was a powerful swordsman who has saved the lives of many, which the boy found admiring. As soon as they've arrived, Shinjuro had went to the living room. Obanai was hiding in Shinjuro's cape, due to his shyness. He felt a bit timid and nervous, but at the same time, he was quite excited to meet his family.
Obanai peeked out a bit, seeing a woman with black hair, beautiful red eyes, and a stoic expression. To Obanai, she looked a bit intimidating, but judging the fact that she's part of the swordsman's family, he immediately assumed she wouldn't do anything bad. The woman saw the boy peek out, and she gave him a small wave; still keeping her blank expression. Obanai felt startled, but he waved back before he hid behind Shinjuro and his cape again.
There were footsteps coming from the other room, getting louder and louder until it stopped. "What is it, father?" a voice said. It sounded like a little boy, with excitement in his tone. He was quite loud, and judging from the little noises, there was definitely another child... Just younger. "I want you all to meet someone. He'll be part of the household, temporarily." Shinjuro said with a stoic and calm smile.
The excited little boy gasped with a happy expression, while the younger continued to make noises... The swordsman lifted up his arm, slightly pulling the cape to reveal the little boy. Obanai paused for a monent, feeling nervous before peeking out once more with a timid expression. He saw the appearance of the boys now. The excited boy had the same hair as Shinjuro, but shorter, but it's still long enough to be tied up into . The younger one's appearance was the same, but his hair was very, very short.
