Sad dayz | Chapter 5

~~Ryland's POV~~

"Bye Garrett! Bye Andrew!" Shane and I said as Garret and Andrew walked out to their car in the driveway. 

I have been waiting patiently for everyone to leave so Shane and I could talk to Gracie because after she got the phone call from her coach she has been a little off. 

"Gracie Face." I called out in a slightly goofy tone as Shane and I walked to her room. 

"Yes?" She asked looking up from her phone as she sat in her bed. 

"Hey everything alright?" I asked as we walked over and sat on her bed. 

"Y-yeah." She choked as tears welled up in her eyes. 

"Oh honey." Shane said as Gracie began sob.

Shane wrapped her up in a huge as she sobbed into his shoulder. 

"I was cut from the team." She said through the sobs. 

"I know I shouldn't cry but being a cheerleader was always my dream." She said pulling away and wiping her eyes trying to stop crying. 

"It's ok Grace. I know that is so sad! Did they say why?" I asked her while wrapping her up in a hug. 

"They had too many girls." She replied. 

"Then why did they let you join in the first place?" Shane asked. 

She shrugged as she wiped her eyes more. 

"That is frustrating that they got your hopes up and a week later cut you for no reason." I added. 

She kind of just laid back in her bed and I knew that she was just really disappointed. I felt really bad for her. 

"Okay why don't we postmates some ice cream and watch movies and just have a family night?" Shane suggested. This brought a smile to Gracie's face and she nodded. 

We all got up and walked into the living room. Gracie sat next to me and Shane sat on the other side of Gracie while he was ordering our ice cream. We looked around on the tv for a good movie to watch. 

"Oh can we watch mean girls? It's my favorite movie!" Gracie suggested. 

"Absolutely!" I said searching up Mean Girls on Netflix. 

Shane decided he wanted to pop popcorn so we did that and while doing that our ice cream arrived. 

"Gracie can you go get the postmates?" I called over as she sat on the couch. 

"Yeah!" She hopped up and answered the door. 

We all finally sat down and cuddled the rest of the night and just enjoyed our company and stuff. 

~~The next day~

I woke up on the couch with Shane and Gracie. We all fell asleep watching the movie so we didn't bother getting up and moving. I gently unwrapped Gracie's arms from around me and got up to make myself a coffee. As I waited for my coffee to brew I looked back over at the couch to see Gracie and Shane cuddling on the couch fast asleep was so cute. I snapped a picture and made it my home screen. I love my little family. 

I grabbed my coffee and went into the office to start my Christmas shopping. Shane and I are extra excited for Christmas this year because we have a kid that we can buy a ton of things for. We love Christmas and love giving gifts but I think it's just a little extra special this year. I decided to get all my shopping for Shane done first so he can't peek. So far in the cart I have little things that he has mentioned to me that he wants and likes but I need to see if I can find a big main gift to give him. As I was shopping a little voice was heard behind me, "Whatcha doinn?" Gracie asked me as she laid her head on my shoulder.
