- WARNING, This chapter has some pretty dark themes. aka torture, there will be * around it but I recommend just skip. It's a short not super descriptive part but it will bring some trauma to the character.
As Lena regained consciousness, her surroundings were shrouded in darkness. She felt disoriented and groggy, her head pounding from whatever had been used to subdue her. The cloth gagging her had been removed, but her hands remained bound.
Struggling to focus her vision in the dimly lit space, Lena realized she was in a cave, the walls rough and uneven. The eerie silence was broken only by the distant sound of water dripping. Fear coiled within her, but she knew she had to remain calm and assess her situation.
As Lena struggled against her bonds, she attempted to summon her magic, but a suffocating darkness enveloped her abilities. It was as though an impenetrable shroud had fallen upon her, preventing even the faintest glimmer of her powers from emerging. It became painfully clear that their captors wielded a formidable force capable of suppressing the very essence of the forest's magic.
Lena POV: I squinted my eyes in an effort to survey the rest of the room. My vision slowly adjusted to the dim light, revealing small, silver objects hanging and scattered across the chamber's floor. A woman, with striking silver hair and piercing blue eyes, gracefully approached me. She wore a cloak adorned with intricate embroidery, and her face bore a cold, unyielding expression.
A glimpse of white caught my eye as she reached into her pocket. Withdrawing a long knife with a bone handle, she walked over to the side of the cave and dragged the blade along the stone.
An involuntary shiver coursed through me as the long, screeching sound filled the air. I couldn't help but squirm in my seat, convinced I heard a cruel laugh escaping her lips. She then returned the knife to its sheath and turned her gaze toward me, wearing an enigmatic expression.
"You look familiar," she said, her voice carrying a haunting melody, both melancholic and raspy. An unsettling chill permeated the room, causing my eyes to water and my throat to sting. With long, witchy fingernails, she extended a hand towards me.
*"You must have caused quite the trouble last time for me to remember you," she said harshly, gripping my chin and exposing my vulnerable neck. Her firm pressure created an odd sensation in my throat as she ran the cold knife over my skin, leaving no visible mark. She continued in a haunting whisper, "You will break an oath, you will hurt this world. I can prevent it if you tell me everything."
My gaze drifted past her, and I remained silent, not out of stubbornness but as I contemplated her words. They seemed to pierce deep into my soul, my thoughts straying to Leo and the impending loss that weighed on my heart. Was our sacrifice worth it? Was it time to embrace the end?
I snapped back to reality when the frigid metal penetrated my skin, leaving a stinging cut. She retrieved a cloth and wiped away the blood with a cruel intensity, inflicting even more pain.
"You and your little friends will die one at a time if you don't speak!" Her voice seethed with anger and frustration, the sound piercing like a shrill whistle. She screamed for them to bring the dog, and a somewhat subdued Adrian entered the chamber, accompanied by a tall man. She reached for a revolver, her intentions unmistakably dire.
The dog or the information, she demanded, but the loss of blood was taking its toll on me. My head grew light, and I lost all sensation in my legs. The last thing I heard was muffled screams and a gunshot, accompanied by the chilling sensation of a dagger piercing my flesh. *
- Sorry for the short chapter but researching ways to torture someone is a bit draining, also just saying I think the government is out to get me.
