As Buggy stepped off of the Badussy ship he took in a deep breath of the fresh salty air coming off of the port.
"At last, 1498"
Gaga handed off her notes to Buggy and off the girls went. Buggy was a bit sad to see the girls go but was excited for the adventure that laid ahead of him. Buggy looked at the notes in front of him and his eyes were quickly drawn to the first name on the list, Leonardo da Vinci. da Vinci was an Italian polymath of the high Renaissance who was active as a painter, draughtsman, engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor, and architect. Under the notes lay some of the important things he worked on such as the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. The Mona Lisa was painted between 1503 and 1519 so that piece was clear but the Last Supper was painted between 1495 and 1498. This was perfect timing.
"da Vinci here I come!"
As Buggy went off to find da Vinci at the Santa Maria delle Grazie he gained a lot of strainge looks from the Italians around the town. Although pirates have existed since the ancient times, the golden age of piracy wasn't until the 17th and early 18th centuries. This along with Buggy's clown like appearance and hair made him stand out quite a bit.
"Boy am I famished!"
Buggy looked around the town and could see an older lady selling some Fuji apples which are the sweetest kind of apples. Buggy had no money on him and buying wasn't quite his style. He quickly looked around and popped off one of his hands. He smoothly steered it towards the apples and there it was in his grasp. He was ready to send his hand back to his body but there was a tight grip on his hand.
"Whose hand is this! Whose trying to steal my sweet, juicy, scrumptious, self grown, no GMO, deeeelicious apples?"
Buggy looked to the ground and whistled.
"You there" The lady pointed to Buggy
He knew he had to quickly think of a plan. Plan A: He could kindly explain the situation to the lady and in this situation she would understand and give it to him for free. Or Plan B: He could see the old lady wouldn't be able to defend the apple stand or herself so he could beat her up and maybe mug her for money as a little treat. Just when he decided the plan he felt a hand touch his back.
"Oh sorry! That belongs to me. My dog must have put it there"
Buggy looked up to the person speaking to the old lady beside him. Astonishingly it was the Leonardo da Vinci. da Vinci went up to the lady and grabbed the hand.
"Oh and can I also purchase two or your apples, thanks"
da Vinci made his way back over to Buggy. I believe this belongs to you. da Vinci Handed Buggy back his hand still holding the apple.
"Thanks. You're Leonardo da Vinci, right?"
"That I am. The second weirdest man in Milan. Maybe making a robot baby wasn't my best idea."
"Whose the weirdest man?"
"Im looking at him! I've never seen such hair like that before and that nose. I suppose separating body parts is also quite out of the ordinary"
da Vinci looked at Buggy as if he was breaking down his entire face and thinking of the best technique he could paint his face.
"Umm are you by any chance currently working on the last supper?"
"Why yes I am!"
"I'm not sure if I could be telling you this but I am a.... spy yes a spy and my boss sent me here to make sure nothing was out of the ordinary with the art people were working on. Could I by any chance take a look at your painting?"
"That sounds totally normal and not at all suspicious to me! Come on follow me I'll take you there"
Buggy and da Vinci chatted and made their way down to the Santa Maria delle Grazie. It was a beautiful morning day.
"Alright! Here we are take a look at it"
Buggy took out his notes and examined his photo of the last supper to the current last supper. The last supper is a mural painting that depicts the dramatic interaction in the moment of the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) Where Jesus declares that one of the disciples will betray him and later institutes the Eucharist. According to Leonardo's belief that posture, gesture, and expression should manifest the "notions of the mind". Leonardo liked to take long pauses on the painting and used an experimental technique using tempera or oil paint. Because of his decision, pigments were not permanently attached and within a few years, started to flake away. Steam and smoke from the monasteries kitchen, as well as soot from candles and the overall dampness of the area has also impacted the painting quite a lot. Oh well you win some you loose some.
"Alright everything looks good to me. I'll be on my way then."
"Thank you sir. I hope our paths may meet again"
"Don't count on it!"
