William sat in the driveway for what felt like hours, dreading facing his family and Henry again. He was surprised to even see Henry's car in the driveway; he expected Henry to leave when he did. Nevertheless, it was there. William pondered what he would say to him and his family.
William was a prideful man; he rarely apologized and if he did wrong, he would blame it on someone else. But, this time, he knew he had done wrong and he knew that he must apologize.
He gave himself a moment or two to gather his thoughts, and then he got out of his car with the box of VHS tapes and walked to the front door.
Henry, still on the couch with Charlie lying in his lap, looked over to the doorway, darkened by Afton's presence. Without a word, he entered and shut the door behind him. Afterwards, stepped toward the couch and dropped the box with a metallic clang!
"I'm back," he uttered.
Henry took a deep breath, but only said, "Hey, Will. The kids are sleeping. Clara, I think, is reading to Evan and Liz."
William bent over and picked up the next tape in the series, Henry interjecting, "You sure that's a good idea right now?"
"I need to know," William replied. "Are we destined to destroy ourselves or is there a way we can change our fate?"
"It may be too late for that, Will," Henry said as he stood, Charlie in his arms.
"Sit, Henry," William said as he inserted the tape in the VHR.
"Will—"
"If we are to change our fate, we must know what will become of us," William said.
With Charlie still asleep in his arms, he sighed and sat back down. "Fine. Let's get this over with."
A/N: Since MatPat has finally retired, I decided now would be as good a time as any to finish this story. I don't know who's still interested in it, but I'm trying to finish what I started. After this, I have a few more stories lined up, so stay tuned. A few TWD stories, and at least one DDLC story. I got a LOT of FNAF stories lined up too. 😅😅
Anyway, thank you for having patience with me. And MatPat, I doubt you'll read this. You don't strike me as a fanficer. I just wanted to say, thank you for the memories. Thank you for what you've done for this community. You may let your sanity rest. 😂😂
