Chapter 7: Growing Feelings

Carlos was shivering in the car and max offered him his jacket, Brian called to max to ask him about his whereabout but max didn't tell him anything and told him he went out. "Thank you for saving me again, I really owe you" said Carlos, "you don't owe me anything, I hate seeing people torturing a minor" replied max, "am not a minor I just don't engage in violence," said Carlos. Max stared at the poor boy, his body was covered with bruises "how can you still smile in such condition" he asked, Carlos didn't reply. On getting to max house, Brian and jay were shocked to see max with Carlos "what is he doing here" jay asked, they saw the bruises on Carlos's face, "what happened to you?" Brian asked looking worried, Carlos told them it was nothing but max told them the whole story. "And you let him live" Brian said angrily, "you should have shot his brain out". They ordered food and prepared a bubble bath for him, got him some new clothes and also treated his wound.

Three days later Carlos told max that he wanted to resume school and that his exam is coming up, max didn't want him to go because he was worried "what if that dude shows up again and there's no one to protect you. I don't think you should go" max told him, "But if I don't write this exam, I won't be able to get into college, my mum will be disappointed in me again" he said sadly, max was surprise to hear Carlos talk about his mother "you have a mum? where is she in a time like this uh" max asked, Carlos replied "my story is a bit complicated", "I want to hear your story, every bit of it. I really want to help you, it's not safe out there for you and I will hate myself if something should happen to you" max said holding his hand and looking worried, they stared at each other for a while, Brian walked him with his bodyguards and broke the silence; "max can I talk to you for a moment". They stepped out to talk and brain asked him "do you like him?", max denied it "good! You know we are not allowed to fall in love", max nodded.

Max drove Carlos to his school and told Carlos to call him when school is over, he nodded. Max also gave him so pepper spray for self-defense but he refused to take it but he insisted. As Carlos was walking down the hall way Christopher approached him and wanted to apologize for what happened and told him that if he didn't do what they ask him to do they will punish him, Carlos didn't listen him and walked out.

Carlos school was hosting a talent hunt where kids come to display their talent. One of the bullies told Carlos to display how to suck cock, this statement made Carlos so angry and he responded "I am going to participate and I make sure I beat you too it", everyone was shocked that Carlos talked back, he usual just ignore it. Carlos signed up for the talent hunt as a singer, nobody wanted to duet with him so he was going solo. Carlos told the guys about it and asked them to support him. Brian supported with money, jay's literally is an ass and max was his number one fan.

Max and Carlos went shopping and collected ideas, max and Carlos spends a lot of time together making them grow feelings for one another.
