My country. My kingdom. My destiny.
It's gone, all gone now. But I will get it back. I won't let my people, or my family suffer.
I. Will. Get. It. Back.
I'm not insane, if that's what you're wondering.
Meet the princess of Silarius, heir to the throne. Yep. That's me. Evangeline.
I must admit, I never quite liked the thought of my destiny being set in stone, of having to be a ladylike queen.
I'm just like other girls, other teenagers, other people. That's how I thought of it. I'm completely ordinary, just born into a royal family.
You might be wondering what type of kingdom Silarius is.
Well, it's a traditional kingdom. Eldest child becomes the next queen or king, bla, bla, bla.
However, Silarius is known for the beautiful deserts, and the fair justice system.
Silarius's sun is always shining, always bright, and best of all, Silarius is safe. Or at least, it was. More on that later.
You can usually tell some is Silarien if they're tan, and have curly black hair with chocolate brown eyes.
And now it is later, so I will tell you why Silarius is no longer safe.
The kingdom of Monirius. That's why. The stupid second-born prince led the attack. He must think he's so smart, taking over Silarius.
They took my family prisoner, and are treating my people as slaves.
I was able to run, thanks to my mother, who distracted them.
I ran to Dwardous, a foreign kingdom that is neutral in all affairs. Silarius was neutral too, you know. Until the Monirius morons decided to take over.
You can usually identify a Monirien as a person with gleaming, silky black hair, skin so pale, it's crazy, and eyes as gray as the moon.
Monirius and Silarius used to be so close, though. Like the sun and moon. I don't understand what happened.
Anyways, in Dwardous, I became a royal guard. It's been three weeks. When people asked where I was from, I said I was from the kingdom of Chirlaten, but my father was Silarien.
Half of it is true.
Luckily, no other kingdom knows what I look like, or my name because of mother.
It's strange, isn't it? They know I exist, but only the people of Silarius actually know anything about me, and they'd never tell anyone. And, again, 'coincidentally', my mother took down all the portraits of me a week before the attack.
I swear, it's as if she can see the future.
Only the second-born prince caught a glimpse of me, and that wasn't enough to fully know what I look like. Oh my sun, if he actually fully knew what I looked like, it would be a disaster. A Monarius shaped disaster.
But yeah.
I'm in Dwardous now. A Dwardien usually has blonde hair, and sun-kissed skin, with blue eyes.
Oh, and before we get back to the present, I need to tell you something, that could ruin my whole secret identity thing.
I took a dagger with me. The Silarius Royal Dagger, with my kingdom's symbol on it. I cover the symbol with some paper, but if someone ever sees it?
It could be my very undoing, and any hope, any chance that my kingdom could escape this brutal slavery?
It. Would. Vanish.
