Chapter one- Rainy day

"It's my first day of school." They thought to themself. "It's fine, you're fine. It's just high school." The young witch was due to start highschool this morning, and they were scared out of their mind. They were supposed to go to a private school, one that their parents couldn't afford but if the young witch promised to bring the school fame, they were allowed to study there, cost free.

"We're gonna be late! Hurry up!" Their mother yelled

The young witch hurriedly grabbed their things before rushing out the door.

"Sorry sorry! I got held up!" They apologize, getting onto the back of their mothers saff

It was a rainy day out, and the rain seemed extra hot. So the witches, just like all the rest, had to use their magic to keep them safe from harm's way.

"Are you excited?" their mother asked

"I'm not quite sure..It's such a good school, what if I mess up? What if they kick me out!? What if-"

The small witch was cut off by their mother, who looked at them with worry

"I-I'm sorry mom..I just, i'm scared.."

"It's okay baby..Just relax, all will be okay." Their mother smiled at them, too which they smile back.

The witches pull up to the school which read 'St. Epiderm'. The school was located on a cliff near the knee, making the surrounding area very cold. Though the school was located in a cold area, the uniforms helped very little to keep the students and teachers warm

"I'll see you later mom, make it home safe." They smiled at their mom, using their magic to create a barrier.

"I will, and remember..Relax."

The witch nodded and ran into the school filled with other witches

"Woah" They thought "This place is so..Shiny"

As the young witch marveled the bell screamed, all the students ran to their respective classrooms to get the first pick on seats. The poor small witch was knocked to the ground by their peers, none noticing nor caring about them as they walked to class.

The witch got up quickly and wandered the halls, looking at their schedule for their class. When they had finally found their class all the front seats were taken, forcing them to sit at the back. Once the bell had screeched its final scream class had started.

"Students open up your books to page 47. 'How to remove a kidney.'" The teacher announced to the class

The class all opened up their books to the correct page, except for one. The girl who sat next to the nervous witch had no book, and the small witch not dared to ask if she had forgotten it. The witch who sat next to them was tall, muscular, and older than them. She surely didn't just forget it, forgetting something didn't exist in St. Epiderm, it was a lousy excuse, and frowned upon in such an expensive school.

"Cutburn, where's your book?" The teacher questions

"My younger cousin took it sir, you can call my mother and ask, ill accept the punishment for not keeping track of my stuff."

The woman's voice was strong, but soft. She sat tall as she spoke, and didn't stutter or trip over a word.

"That won't be necessary, I trust you as the top student in your course. Pair up with a peer." The teacher continues teaching the class, walking towards the front of the room, annunciating every word he spoke.

The girl turned to the small witch.

"Do you mind if I pair with you?" She whispered

The small witch stuttered with nervousness

"I-Ye-uhhh-Sure!" Unlike the muscular woman, the witch was rather loud with their words, and stumbled a lot. Causing the class to turn to look at them, making the embarrassed witch blush. Thankfully the class returned to its original state of quietness.

The young witch heard a snicker come from their side, when the turned they saw the lady's blue lips curled into a smirk.

"That was soooo loud" She giggled quietly, the small witch did nothing but blush in embarrassment

"I-I'm sorry..I didn't mean to be that loud.." The small witch whispered

"No, no, you're okay. I'm Hettie Cutburn, I'm a junior here at St. Epiderm."

"You're a Junior!?" They asked, in a rather loud whisper

"Hey! New kid! Shut it!" The teacher yelled

The witches nodded at their teacher, before resuming their conversation.

"Yes, I'm a junior. I can only assume you're new here?"

They nod their head

"I assumed, hey what's your name kid?" Hettie questions, raising her eyebrow

The young witch stays quiet, looking out the window at the rain.

After school the small witch's mother picked them up, taking them home. When they walked through the door their father was sitting at the table making sure their dinner didn't over cook.

"Hey kid! How was school?" Their father asks them

The young witch sits at the table across from their father

"It was good, I made a new friend."

Their parents faces lit up

"That's amazing! See we told you there was nothing to worry about!"

They smiled at their parents before sighing

"I also found a name I like..."

Their parents pause

"Well what is it..?"

They compose themselves before answering

"Raine. My name is Raine Whispers."
