Thomas's POV
I sat up, breathing heavily. I was sweating and wet. I stood up and realised in utter horror, I was in the box again. My heart jolted and I swiftly spun around. It looked the exact same. I felt angry and afraid. I couldn't live this nightmare again. Maybe escaping was all a dream.
The box was moving up, but faster than I remembered. I backed into the wall, the lights flashing again. "No, no, no!" I yelled. I turned around and banged on the box walls, horrified. "Noo!"
"Thomas!" I heard someone yell. A boy. Minho. I looked up. Where was the voice coming from? "Thomassss!!!!" I was gonna crash into the wall. The box wasn't slowing down. And I screamed. The door opened overhead, blinding me with light.
And I sat up, Minho in my face. "Thomas!" He yelled. "Wake up! We gotta go! Come on!" Outside, I could hear the helicopter wings still spinning and it was dark. It was loud. I sat up, just as Minho jumped out of the helicopter. I dangled my legs over the edge and someone pulled me down. "Let's go! Let's go! We gotta go!" It was a guy in a mask. He pulled me forward. "You alright? You alright?" The man asked, when suddenly I remembered something.
"Wait! Wait! Wait! Wait!" I said and pushed away his arms.
"Where are you going?! We don't have time!" He yelled. I ran to the helicopter and ran my hands around the darkness. I couldn't feel anything. I started to panic, till I wrapped my fingers around the small carving. "Come on!" The man pulled me off the floor. "Get out of here!" He said. Then we heard a screech. I instantly thought of grievers, but I turned my head, the same direction as the man and saw multiple people standing on a star dune. He let go of me and ran to the end of the helicopter. "Cranks! We got Cranks!" He yelled and brought out his gun and started shooting the people. I ducked down as several other guns started shooting. "Gotta move! Not safe here, kid!" Another man said from behind me and spun me around. I saw my friends running, and I looked up to see a bright building. I ran too. I heard the guns were still shooting. Why were they shooting the people? I was confused, but they probably had a good reason for it.
More people with guns ran out of the building and shot the people. I saw the doors closing, so I sped up. I ran into the doors, just as they closed behind me. I was in the building. I looked behind me and saw my group of friends gazing around. I went in front of them and looked around too. It had dozens of people with guns running around. Driving carts, with people in them. And lots of machines. It was a huge space. And it was a whole lot different from the Maze.
