"Luffy are you alright?" I ask to my captain, he looks at me then looks back at the ocean.

"We need to find Nami, I want her to say to my face that she doesn't want to be on this team." He replies as he continues to look at a distance.

I go and try to scoot closer to him but he kept moving away from me, and I felt embarrassed.

"Kailani, we should talk.. follow me." Luffy says as he motions for me to follow him and I do. We go downstairs to the room that Zoro stayed in for a few days while he was hurt.

"What did you want to talk about?" I ask him nervously as I look out the window. He sits a few inches away from me, and doesn't say anything for awhile.

"I don't know how to say this.." he says as he tries to gather words to form in his mouth.

"What's wrong captain. Did I do something wrong?" I ask him curiously as I bite the inside of my cheek.

"Kai, don't do that." He says as he stares at me, and I question him, "do what?" I ask innocently because I genuinely did not know what he was talking about.

"I can't do this anymore. I have to focus on everyone. I can't just be focused on you. I need to get Nami back." He says in his confident tone.

"This is what this was about? Luffy I never asked for you to put me on this advantage. I want to find Nami too! I was just trying to comfort you, you know, something friends do?" I say to him getting very defensive because I could feel my heart start to break.

"Kailani, it's just.. We are going to have to break this bond between us. I need to be the leader of this crew. You said it yourself every crew needs their captain." He says as he puts his straw hat on and then off.

I look down trying not to cry in front of him, "what are you saying Luffy? I thought we were just friends." I say to him and bite my lip, "were we something more?" I added curiously since he was acting like we were.

He nodded his head at me, "I thought we were, why do you think everyone called you my girlfriend?" He asks me and my eyes go wide, "Luffy, you never told me.." I say to him and shake my head.

"I think it's best if we keep our distance for now. Just until we can find Nami and get her back." He says determined and I sigh.

"Whatever you say captain." I say sadly, still not entirely sure what just went on.

"Great! Hurry and come up so we can see where we are heading." Luffy says as he runs up the stairs and I follow shortly after.

I walked beside Sanji and Luffy walked in the middle, I swear I saw him sneak some glances at me, but I paid No attention to it. This is what he wanted, I was going to respect his wishes.

All 5 of us watched as Nami ordered for the villagers of Coca the rent money that was due every month to live on the island.

If I learned anything from these islands I'd say that my people definitely don't have it as bad as these.

We didn't have to pay a fee for living on the land, we only got fixed houses and very scummy neighborhoods.

"I feel so bad for these people." I whisper to Sanji and he nods his head at me.

Nami spotted us right away and walked toward us, "Luffy.. what are you doing here. I told you to leave me alone." She says in her upset voice.

He shakes his head, "you didn't mean that." He replies back determined to get the truth out of her. "I was never part of your stupid crew, so just go back home. Leave me alone. All of you, you too Kailani.." she says as she looks at every one of us, of course she looked at me last.

We watched as she left and I sighed.

"Well, you heard her. Let's go." Zoro says as he gets his things to leave.

"No, there is something more. Women never mean what they say." Sanji says and then looks at me and I nod, "Can confirm that is true and I have no idea how Sanji knew that.." I say and laugh.

He nudges me and I shove him back. "Now is not the time to play you two, we must find a way to figure out what is going on with Nami." Luffy says as he looks at Sanji and I then Zoro and Usopp.

"Why don't we just follow the blue haired girl?" I tell them as if it was obvious. I lead the way since I followed her with my eyes, I really hoped it was the right way.

Once we arrived to the house right before Luffy was going to knock on the door the girl with blue hair is seen by the door.

"Go away." The girl says as she pulls out a shotgun and loads it.

Luffy puts his hands up and Sanji flirts. "We are here to talk about Nami." Luffy says and when the blue haired girl wouldn't budge Sanji made a deal with her that if he made the food then she would talk.

And that's exaction what she did, was talk, she told us all the little details she could remember. She also ate the food like it was the last supper.

"I'm going to go get fresh air." The blue haired girl says and I say that I would go with her. I didn't even bother ask Luffy if it was okay. I was giving him all the space.
Just as I got outside I get pulled by a strong arm, when I turn around I frown because it was Luffy.

"Let go of me Luffy." I say to him and I escape from his grasp.

"I don't think you should go. What if one of Arlongs crew takes you? We have to stick together." He says and I shrug, "and allow Namis sister to get taken? I don't like that idea either." I say to him and shrug.

"Why are you acting like this Kailani." He says, his voice becoming demanding.

I look at him in disbelief, "does earlier today ring a bell to you?" I ask him seriously and he shook his head, "you must understood me, we did not break up, we are just on break." He says as if that clears things up.

"Since when were we dating? I don't remember you asking me out. Or even telling me you like me?" I say to him so confused, and he was confused too.

"You have to talk about those things in a relationship? He asks and I slowly nod my head, "plus, I would want a guy to choose me even when times get tough, even if he's a pirate captain and lost his whole team. Relationships are about choosing to fight for each other every single day. Now I see the type of man in a relationship you are." I say to him and I just walk away, ignoring him calling out for me.

I quicken my pace to catch up with Namis sister. We stop at Nami and her sisters mothers grave. That's where we saw Nami, which her sister ushered me to lurk from a far since she might get skeptical of seeing me with her.

I could hear their whole conversation, and apparently some snitch marines could hear them too.

I decided to step in once one of the marines pinned Nami to the ground. I used my water ability to get the one marine guy off her.

But it was too late, "you're lucky we don't take you in for assaulting a marine young lady." The guy says and I scoff. "Oh I'm so scared." I yell as they leave with Namis treasure chest.

"Why are you here Kailani. I thought I told you to leave.. you don't understand what's going on." She says to me and I shrug, "you're part of the straw hat crew. You're one of us forever." I say to her and she shakes her head once she realizes what this means for her small village.

She starts running full speed and I run after her in case she encounters any danger.

"Stop following me Kailani, please. I don't want to lose you too." She says as she then suddenly stops and pulls out a knife and starts to stab herself.

I was about to go down with her until I saw Luffy walking towards her, he looked at me and I looked at him blankly I just gave him the head nod you give to your captain.

I walk over by Sanji and Zoro as I watch slightly jealously as Luffy and Nami bonded.

I heard her ask him for help and before we knew it we heard a thud from the distance.

"They're attacking the village." Usopp says and we all get up.
