"Ever since, she hasn't returned to Tokyo, at least to my knowledge. The police had confiscated what was left of her cars in her garage. I visited the garage a week after, hoping she'd be waiting for me. No, just an empty building with police tape. No notes, nothing. It's as if she had never existed. I took my white Evo back to my private garage and decided to go on one last race before I focused on my goal to become a detective with the intention of tracking down Shiro, then I got caught by you."
"So you're claiming that this Shiro, never even left a text? No goodbyes? No farewell gifts or a final race?"
"Correct sir, my phone was stolen when I was beaten up."
"You said you were curious about what happened after you drove away from the suspect, correct?"
"Yes sir."
"I suppose, you are authorized to view the following footage we caught on the traffic cameras. It was expensive to keep the press from finding this tape."
I played the recording of the final part of the chase sequence between the suspect and the red Nissan. To describe the recording in words, right after Lars had driven away in his black Skyline, the suspect had drifted into a narrow residential area, with the red Nissan following.
The man in the Nissan had brought out his gun, which we had recently identified to be a Mac-10 with 9mm ammunition and fired on the suspect's car, and shattered the back window of the white Mazda. The suspect then accelerated at an estimated speed of nearly 300 km/h and gained a huge lead on the Nissan and stopped at the end of the street, got out and fired her shotgun, a Remington Model 870 with slug rounds towards the Nissan. It seemed that she had intended to kill the driver by shooting him, and herself by allowing herself to be hit by the speeding car. Unexpectedly, a grey McLaren P1 T-boned the Nissan on it's right side at nearly 340 km/h, killing both drivers instantly.
The driver of the Mclaren has been identified to be Alexandra A. Sharde, a thirteen year old student of [REDACTED] Academy in Greystone City Washington state. The suspect was visibly in shock from the sudden collision, and dropped her Remington and ran to the wreckage in a futile attempt to save the driver of the McLaren, but all she succeeded in pulling out was a corpse. A grey Aston Martin DB9 quickly arrived on the scene. The suspect took one look at the Aston before running back, picking up her firearm got to the Mazda and quickly sped off, leaving the driver, possibly Xyrus A. Sharde twin brother of Alexandra to mourn her death on his own. That was the most recent footage we have had of the suspect two weeks later.
"So you don't have any updates on Shiro?"
"Not yet we haven't. Your 'Shiro' is a sly one, especially for her age. She had built a garage out of the grid, and managed to avoid all traffic cameras following the incident. Not to mention she has no official identity we could get from her face."
"...So you have no hope in tracking her down then?"
"Correct. We have enlisted several heroes to track her down, but they either came back with nothing, or didn't come back. Without a doubt, this suspect is a Class A threat if she can eliminate several heroes and learn to exploit the system without being detected herself. And if she did indeed build that robot you described in the cafe, she might possess an engineering intellect that can either save or destroy the world."
"...Who is she???"
"Our best guess is that she's a GMH from the meltdown in Texas."
"GMH?"
"A Genetically Modified Human. They are artificial humans born without official identities, which can explain the lack of records. What makes them special is that they have more than one ability from birth. The two Americans you saw teleporting were GMHs. Although many of the GMHs from the meltdown in 2005 have registered their identities, but two were unaccounted for. The suspect is definitely one of them."
"But Shiro said the two twins were her cousins. Surely there must be some family record?"
"The twins do have a cousin that goes by Xander Sharde, aged thirteen as of now, a GMH as well. No female cousin on our records though. But thanks to your cooperation, we were able to deduce that the suspect is the older sister of this Xander."
"...Glad I could be a form of help. So with these events, is it safe to assume I should give up on being a detective?"
"Not necessarily. Because of your cooperation and intelligence we have gathered, we have reduced your sentence to simply a week's worth of community service. Your parents won't have to know about this, we can send them a fabricated school memo of a field trip. Afterwards, if you excel in your studies, you can enroll into the academy and train to become among our ranks. You are now dismissed, once again thank you for your cooperation."
"Thank you sir!"
