Chapter 12

ANDY

I can't believe Harper just kissed me, why would she do that. I just hope nobody saw anything or suspected anything because if Cade did find out all hell would break loose

He called me earlier and asked me to do a job for him so here I am in an empty parking lot of a bar waiting for a man named Henry Fall so I can end his little miserable life

Henry showed up 10 minutes later, he was so wasted he could barely even walk properly. I hate men who can't handle their alcohol "been waiting for you Mr Fall"

"wh-who are you" he slurred squinting his eyes and burping inbetween his words "I don't think we've had the pleasure, I'm Andy and I'm about to be your worst nightmare Mr Fall" I said giving him a sly smile "how can a beautiful girl like you be a nightmare...you're quite the opposite Amy...uh that's your name right Amy?"

I could smell the stench of alcohol coming from his hot breath and it was making me sick to my stomach and this is coming from someone who kills for a living

"it's Andy Mr Fall" I fake smiled "...and I'm gonna stick this knife in your throat now, ok?" I took out a sharp long knife and started walking towards him as he walked backwards

"you won't  hurt me, you're too pretty to be..."

I sliced his throat before he could finish saying what he wanted to say, his body dropped on to the floor and blood started gushing out of his throat as he struggled to breath. I had some of his blood on my face, on my red dress and on my shoes

I waited until his body became lifeless and motionless then I got in my car and left his body there for God knows who to find

I don't even know what he did, Cade just told me to kill him so I did, no questions asked

I opened my phone and sent him a text

Andy: job done Henry is dead

I closed my phone and headed back home, I needed a shower to get Henry's blood off my body. I got home and headed straight to the shower. I quite enjoy showers they are the place where I can escape reality and focus only on how good the water felt on my skin

I got out of the shower and Cade had responded to my message

Cade: I knew I could count on you to get the job done👍

I took a deep breath and threw myself onto my bed but when I closed my eyes I could just feel Harpers lips on my own, the kiss only lasted for like a second but I couldn't stop thinking about it, I couldn't stop thinking about how soft her lips were or how warm her breath was...

What am I thinking, she's my prisoner I can't be thinking of her like this

This girl will be the death of me, her friend and sister keep texting her phone I sometimes text them back pretending to be Harper telling them that she's okay and just needed a break from everyone

I was woken up by a knock on my door, I didn't even know I had fallen asleep.

I got up and dragged my feet to the door and opened the door, one of the new guards was standing outside the door "um sorry to disturb you miss...but is the girl not getting dinner tonight? because she only ate breakfast and you instructed us that only you can give her food"

Shit

"uh I fell asleep, what time is it?" I asked "it's 9:45pm ma'am" he said gazing at his watch on his wrist

"I'll go and get her dinner... thank you for reminding me" I rushed out of the room and then out the house to the nearest food store and got some food for her. How could I forget, she's probably so hungry or maybe she thinks that I'm punishing her for kissing me earlier in the morning

I rushed back to the house and then straight down to the basement, when I opened the door she was already sleeping

I walked closer to her and kneeled next to her mattress, she looked so relaxed but I didn't want her to sleep on an empty stomach. I slowly shook her limp body, she slowly opened her eyes and looked around the room then her eyes fell on mine.

"what time is it, did i oversleep?"

"no-no it's 10:25pm right now" she looked at me confused "... I bought you food, I'm sorry I didn't bring it earlier I got distracted by something and I didn't want you to sleep on an empty stomach"

I saw her face relax "Oh- thanks" she said taking the food from my hands

"I thought you were angry at me because of what happened in the morning" she said looking down and poking her food

I shook my head "no I'm not angry at you Harper, eat your food" I said and she nodded smiling a bit and taking a bite out of her food

"Do you want some?" she said after a while looking up at me, the question caught me so off guard, I didn't expect her to offer me her food

"yeah-um sure I guess...?" she laughed at my puzzled look

She pushed the plate and fork towards me and I took it gracefully and ate the rest of the food, I didn't even realize I was hungry.

She sat back and watched as I ate, then a sad expression crossed her face
"what's wrong?" I asked

"Andy I don't want to die in here" she said dryly and her sad eyes met mine  I didn't know how to react to that

"please...Andy please promise me that I won't die in here"

How could I promise her that, I don't know what Cade is planning to do with her.

I shifted closer to her and rubbed her back slowly

"I promise"

I promise?
