Chapter 8

ANDY

Harper seemed on edge, she thought Cade was going to kill her. I took her to one of the many guest bedrooms and let her in I showed her the bathroom and she went in

I locked the door just incase she tried to escape, I mean she wouldn't get past the security but I don't want to be chasing her around the house

"Are you not afraid that I might jump out the window and run away" she asked, the window was pretty high above, she'd probably break a leg and maybe her ribs and I don't think she'd actually do something so stupid

"don't make me watch you shower" I said with a serious face "nevermind" she said closing the bathroom door. After a while I heard the shower turn on. I trusted her not to make a dumb decision and jump out the window

I laid on my back on the bed and waited for her to finish showering. Cade went on a "business" trip with Antonio for 3 days so I was left to take care of our little prisoner

My eyes were now closed, when I heard the shower stop and the door open, I didn't open my eyes immediately until I heard her shuffling around the room

"if you're looking for something to stab me with trust me there's nothing" I said sitting up and looking at her

"HAHA very funny" she said in a sarcastic tone

She had a towel wrapped around her body, her hair was dripping down her shoulders, some hairs were stuck to her face, she looked pleasing. I didn't realize I was staring for so long until she said "what are you looking at"

I cleared my throat "um nothing I was just thinking...there are clothes in closet if you want they're all brand new so you don't have to worry" she nodded and headed to closet

She came out wearing some sweat pants and an oversized hoodie, she looked so small in those clothes, her hair was still wet but it was no longer dripping of water

"shall we go?" I asked her

"can't we just stay here for a second?...i dont like it down there"

I agreed and she laid down on the bed next to me

After a few moments of silence she spoke "do you think people are looking for me" she said in a small vulnerable voice, I did not know what to say because I didn't want to break her heart, nobody was looking for her, Cade made sure of that

"I don't think so"

"oh..." was all she said in a sad voice. I took a deep breath "look it's not because they don't care about you, in fact a girl named Piper and your sister have been looking for you but Cade made sure they stopped by telling them your uncle took you away...and he he also texted them saying you're okay you just need some space"

I heard her sniff beside me signaling she was crying "I'm never going home...am I?, you guys are going to end up killing me one day *sniff* I don't wanna die...no not yet" I turned to look a her, her face was wet from the tears and her nose was red

"you're not going to die Harper" she sat up looking down at me "how do you know?, your crazy boss is probably going to kill me"

"he is not going to kill you"

"why wouldn't he" she asked looking frustrated "because it's not you he wants, he wants your uncle" she shook her head

"I'm gonna die" she put her hands on her face and started crying even harder

I sighed and sat up too taking her hands away from her face and holding them in mine "if he ever tries to kill you I wont allow him to in fact I will stand infront of you to protect you...okay?" I was speaking in low calm voice and I was also lying to her, if Cade ever wanted to kill her there is now way I would do that because he would probably just shoot me too, she didn't say anything she just rested her head on my shoulder and I let go of her hands

She was starting to fall asleep so I laid down so she could sleep more comfortably, she moved head from my shoulder to my chest

For some odd reason I actually liked it , she was sleeping and she looked so peaceful like she wasn't crying a moment ago

I knew we couldn't stay in this room for long, I knew I'd have to wake her up in a few minutes or carry her downstairs. I didn't mind carrying her downstairs

Cade wasn't going to be back for another 3 days so I didn't take Harper to the basement I just let her sleep in the room, if Cade heard of this he would be very angry with me and probably won't ever trust me again

Well let's just hope he doesn't find out
