Misunderstood

chapter 12

Tiwa's pov:

       "See how beautiful the dress looks on you" my mom gushed from behind me as we walk up to Temi and Remi's house

          "I hate it" I don't know if it's because it's Remi that bought the dress or if she just doesn't know what a beautiful dress looks like that's why she's saying the dress looks beautiful on me

      I look like I have a sack of rice on, it's shiny, the fabric is so hard making it look stiff instead of flow-y and to make matters worse it's a yellow dress

So irritating

             "Just hear the sound of that, that's some good sound system" I rolled my eyes at her although she didn't see me 

      She came here yesterday to help them prepare stuff, she asked me to come with her but I refused and ran out of the house to go wait for my dad at his place of work. I don't know what would happen to me if I sleep over at Remi's house

         Honestly I thought I was free from the party, but just as luck may have it, she came back early this morning to pick me up and some things she 'forgot'

     I had to go with her because I didn't want any problem with her and my dad was also going to the party so I can just stay by his side all day, but then again I know my dad he'll come when the party is ending, so I have to stay here and wait till he gets here

        "Ohhh look at the decorations, Tiwa isn't it beautiful?" I don't know why she's asking me when she knows what my reply would be

        "It's really not, I was expecting something better" she pushed my head slightly and made her way through the gate

          "You're just jealous because you never had this type of party"

    And is it my fault I never had a party like this?

        I shook my head and walked behind the woman who was now in front of me gallivanting

       Mother of the day, just like she calls herself. My mom seems like someone who would be very very pompous if she had money, exactly like Temi. Well I'm not shocked Temi is the carbon-copy of my mom

         She brought me here just to leave me in the middle of balloons and party tents, the dj was blasting off cardi b bodack yellow

      How hilarious, aren't the parents of the birthday girl, pastors? I thought I would be hearing 'amazing grace' or whatever gospel songs they play at pastor kids parties

         I looked around to see Tobi tying balloons on one of the tent poles

        "Hey balloon boy, what's up"

        "Tiwa get away from me before I hang you on this pole"

 
       "How much are they paying for this thing you're doing?"

          "Come close to me for a minute" I didn't go close to him because I'm wiser than that

           "Come, I want to tell you something"

         "I can hear you loud and clear from over here"

          "Temi husband bought Temi a brand new car and a new phone" okay

        "I bet that's what she'll use to boast when next she comes home or hang out with her friends"

        "I don't care, she can boast for all I care I just need her to give me her old phone so now I'm being a good boy and tying balloons" he said picking up another balloon to add to the collection of balloons he was tying
