For a short moment, I had forgotten all my hatred and resentment towards Buggy. Something about the glass walk had brought me closer to him. That was until we walked back into town and I saw the destruction his clowns had caused.

It turned out that not all of his clowns had been a part of the show. A bunch of them had stayed behind, smashing shop windows, looting everything valuable in sight and getting drunk in the street. The chaos only got worse as the clowns from the show joined in on the destruction.

"It's worse than what they did to my town," I mumbled out, feeling tears spilling out of my eyes as I watched the horrific sight.

"The whole point of us coming here was to get more supplies."

"Yes, but they're not just getting supplies. Your clowns are destroying this place. The people aren't even fighting back - there's no reason to cause so much damage."

Buggy sighed as if he was annoyed. "My crew likes to have fun. You can feel free to tell them to stop. I doubt they'll listen, though."

He was being so nonchalant. It was driving me crazy. Realistically, I should have been used to it by now. But I kept giving him more credit than he deserved.

Buggy didn't even wait for me, walking off and expecting me to follow him. I did, not wanting to be left alone with his drunk clowns.

"You really don't feel bad?"

He sighed, giving me a pissed off look. "Betty, how many times do we have to go over this?"

"I just can't believe that anyone could be this... cruel! And not even feel bad about it."

"Then you're naive."

He stopped outside a house, a beautiful house that clearly belonged to someone rich in the town. It wasn't massive but it was much bigger than any other houses around it.

For a moment, I worried he'd do something bad to it. Throw a brick through the window, rip apart the flower guardian out front.

He just opened up the door, smiling at me and saying, "they didn't even bother to look the door."

"Yeah because they were probably in a panic... considering their town was hijacked by clowns."

Buggy didn't bother to reply to that, just gesturing for me to follow him inside. I felt guilty just walking into someone else's house. It didn't feel like I had much of a choice though.

The inside was as nice as the outside. Pictures of the family hung up on the wall and I couldn't help but feel bad looking at the photos.

"We'll sleep here tonight."

I look at Buggy and realised he wasn't joking. "We aren't sleeping on the ship?"

"No. When we go to new towns, we claim the houses while we stay. Call it collateral. They let us sleep in their house and we don't kill them," He told me, laughing as if it was funny.

I clenched my fists by my sides and resisted the urge to slap him. I couldn't, however, resist the urge to give him a piece of my mind.

"You know, sometimes you're so nice that I forget how evil you can be. Does it seriously not bother you doing this to people? Where are they going to sleep tonight?"

Buggy eyed me, as if he was trying to gauge if I was being serious or not. When he realised I was, he rolled his eyes. I was getting pretty sick of him rolling those eyes at me.

"You see everything in black and white. I can be both nice and evil."

"I disagree. If you do evil things, then you're just evil."

He shrugged, looking bored of this conversation. "Then I'm evil. Who cares?"

"I do."

"Why?" He questioned, approaching me. I instinctively took a couple steps back, not wanting him anywhere near me. "Let me take a guess: if I were nicer, you'd feel less bad about being attracted to me."

My face flushed a deep red. "That's... t-hat isn't tru-"

"If it wasn't true, you wouldn't be turning so red right now. You're also obvious about it, too. I can see it, my entire crew can see it. The only person who can't seem to see it, is you."

I couldn't even bring myself to look him in the eyes because he was right, and I knew it. I'd been attracted to him since his first performance, in my town. I was ashamed of myself then but the shame I felt now was indescribable.

"That isn't true."

He was advancing on me more. With every step he took, I'd take one back, desperately needing to keep my distance from him. His steps were rhythmic and graceful.

The look on his face now was one of amusement. I felt like I was an antelope and he a lion. At any moment, he might pounce at me. The problem was, a part of me wanted that.

"It is, and we both know it. Why are we playing these little games? Wouldn't it be easier if we just... acted on our feelings."

My back hit the wall, his smile widening when he realised. His arms went to either side of my head, boxing me in. My heart was beating out of my chest. I wanted so badly to close the distance between us, but I knew it would be wrong of me to do so.

I desperately reminded myself that he was evil, a bad guy, he had kidnapped me and was holding my town hostage.

The only thing I could think to do was try and make him hate me again. I couldn't trust myself to stop this situation, so maybe I could force him to.

"Why would I be attracted to you? Your hair is stupid and your nose -"

One of his hands was on my throat, holding it and forcing my head up to meet his eyes. He didn't apply any pressure. It didn't hurt, not even a little bit.

The feeling of him touching me made me knees feel weak, like they might not be able to support my weight anymore.

"Do you really want to finish that sentence, Princess?" I opened my mouth but no words came out. "I won't do anything you don't want me to do, you know. I'm not like that. So, if you want me to stop, that's all you have to say. Just say stop."

Then his head moved closer to mine until his lips were hovering less than an inch from mine. His eyes boring into mine.

My brain screamed for me to say stop, push him away, or just do anything in resistance. But I couldn't. Because I wanted this so bad.

"Just one kiss," I whispered. "Then I'll-"

He didn't wait for me to finish, his lips were on mine the second he had gotten my permission.
