what this preface includes:

hello, so I thought it would be interesting to add a preface to this story. this preface will include a short introduction to me, explanations and information on aspects of this book which may interest you etc

this preface is not necessarily needed for understanding this book, it's more addressing and explaining aspects around it. therefore, you may skip this if it does not interest you and get straight to reading!

WRITING/GRAMMAR:

important note is that i am scottish which means i use british english and not american english. some examples: we have the letter u in words americans do not, ei colour rather than color; we have re endings rather than er endings ei fibre vs fiber, etc

we also use different words like trousers instead of pants, jumper instead of sweater etc

so before you comment to correct these, check first that they aren't just country differences! also, if you don't understand something, comment and I'll explain/translate it

OC RATHER THAN Y/N

this is exactly what it says - this book has an OC named Betty rather than a vague Y/N. I understand some people only like x reader fics but I personally don't, and I do not like writing from that perspective. i find it unnatural to write you did, rather than I or Betty did for example

also the main character deliberately has a common name - i did not want to give her some over the top beautiful name because she is just a regular person. i chose Betty because i was watching fiona and cake lol i know it's not everyone's favourite name!

COMMENTS:

i love comments especially funny ones so feel so spam as much as you wish - even if it's just lols or emojis, i don't mind. just be nice, especially to one another. this is just a fic, there's no reason to fight/insult other people (yes this has actually happened) and your comments in that circumstance will get deleted

also if you follow me and comment a bunch, i will follow you back, and reply to your comments! i really love interactive with people, especially ones in the same fandom (which is why I hate that wattpad removed dms 🙃)

OTHER INFORMATION:

this is, of course, alternative universe. the buggy in this is based off of the live action one but you are free to imagine the animation one if that's your thing!

this story is about 10 chapters from being finished which means you'll have almost 100 chapters to read, and updates are pretty frequent!

INTRODUCTION TO ME:

i have been writing and reading non stop ever since i was a child. i used to write entire notebooks of stories and ideas. i found wattpad when i was 13 (how fast time flies!), and it has been a long time since then (i am currently in my early twenties 👵).

therefore, i feel like my writing abilities are pretty good - although one can always improve. i do not mind constructive feedback but i do not appreciate mean comments (this does not include jokes about the story and characters, which i love and always laugh at!)

however, i had another wattpad account before this one which was wildly popular, with hundreds of thousands of reads and thousands of followers. but the fanbase that i developed was highly toxic, especially when it came to me taking breaks for mental health/work/school.

i am mentioning this to say that my hope with creating a new account and publishing my stories is: to share my work, which is something i always dreamt of doing, to connect with fans of the same interests i have, and to have fun!

so i kindly ask that if you do not like my stories or my account, just click off them. you can't please everyone and i understand that my work, plot, and writing style may not appeal to you which is absolutely fine, but there is absolutely no need to send me insulting and vile comments about it
