Tanjiro's pov

"Hunny are you sure it's to dangerous for you to go alone"my mother said as she place a cloth against my cheek wiping the stray soot away."Mama I'll be ok I'll just go to the village and sale as much charcoal as I can then I come straight back"I replied placing my hand on hers and give her a small smile. "You don't have t-""ONI-CHAN PLEASE TAKE US WITH YOU"my younger siblings Hanako and Shigeru yelled as they ran towards us almost tripping in the snow."Woah woah calm down now" I said while chuckling "the snow is to thick for you to go"my mother said gracefully "BUT WE WANNA GO" my younger siblings whined. "If I go by myself I'll be back quickly"I protest to my younger siblings while placing a hand on each of there heads.
      "aww ok.." shigeru said quietly sadness radiating from him."hey maybe when I get back I'll play out in the snow you and Hanako" I exclaimed quickly cheering up my siblings.I smile at their happy faces I lifted my hands of their heads I turned to start my way down to the village but not before I turned around to wave "Goodbye everyone I'll be back soon!" I shouted as I was walking down the small path I heard the sound of twigs breaking,I turned to see where the noise was coming from.

      Only to see a small chipmunk covered in small bits of snow "oh hi little guy I didn't see you there" I said bending down to touch it "aren't you supposed to be hibernating?" I said softly to the chipmunk,the chipmunk took small steps toward my hand to sniff it before running back into the frosty forest.I slowly stood up to continue down the pathway.

After walking for quite sometime

'I'm almost at the village,I wonder how many villagers will buy coal today' I thought as I had finally reached the village. "Oh tanjiro I would've have thought that you would come down the mountain on a day like this,you'll catch a cold" one kind old woman called out "oh it's nothing really I will be ok" I politely said back flashing my famous award winning smile "do you have enough charcoal?" I asked before she could answer a door behind me slammed open with a women holding a young boy by the ear

"TANJIRO YOU CAME JUST IN TIME,CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME I'VE BEEN ACCUSED OF BREAKING THIS PLATE" the boy yelled scrambling out of the women's grip and quickly plopping down in a seating position holding a bag containing the broken plate. "Can you please sniff it"the boy begged."oh sure" I said as I leaned down to sniff the broken shards."I smell a ... cat" I say in a calm voice "SEE I TOLD YOU" the boy snapped at the women.

Once I sold out all the charcoal I began my way up the mountains 'woah it took longer then I thought it would it's already dark out but at least I sold all the charcoal' I thought to myself "hey tanjiro your not seriously going back up the mountain are you is dangerous to go in the dark".A voice that I immediately recognized as Mr.Saburos said "oh Mr.Saburo I'll be ok" I said quite tired from the day "besides I have a good sense of smell so i won't get lost" I explained.

"Come inside before the demons get you" Mr.Saburo countered his gaze darkened."all..right then" I uttered as I slowly shuffled towards his house.Once inside Mr Saburo sat me down and gave me some food."Once your finished eating you should go to bed,you can start up the mountain at dawn."Mr.Saburo spoke as he lauded down a futon(an old Japanese bed). "Mr.Saburo what are demons?" After I asked that single question a long pause filled the house.
