Nothing made sense. He was always so cold to you, sure he was cold to everyone but with you it seemed like he'd rather be somewhere else when around you. And that hurts. In the beginning you tired, you gave him tea, made extra eggs that were too much for you so you decided to share some with him, even helped him out with petty and unbelievably annoying chores. But he didn't care.
It finally hit you when you were offering help to him and Mctavish with research on a location you knew all too well about, and in the middle of your sentence Simon cuts you off yelling "No! You'll only get in the way quit clinging to people!"
It had sent your heart into the bottomless pits of dread. All this time trying to be his friend out of the kindness of your heart and you're clinging onto people? This is how he sees you. Does everyone else see you this way? This isn't a safe space anymore.
"Understood."
Your eyes no longer wanted to meet his nor Mctavish, you walk out with a sudden change in attitude, your footsteps fast and heavy.
"You're an asshole Simon. She clearly likes you, now I've been holding out long enough but this is too much. Fix your shit." Johnny says turning to Simon with disbelief written on his face "she's been up my ass ever since she got here. She's annoying-"
"She looks up to you! She just wanted to be on some sort of grounds with you. Jesus Christ. She's a sweet girl if you're not going to do anything I am." Johnny states with disgust in his face walking away shaking his head. And slamming the door to his room.
Okay maybe he did go too far with the comment, but how is it his fault you've been following him around like a damn puppy? You are sweet and attractive yes but they all know in this line of work being involved with someone especially another person in the same field is going to get you and your loved ones killed. You know that. He knows that. So why push boundaries? Why do you keep wanting to know more about him, you've never even had a conversation with him.
He has thought about it who hasn't? But there's too many limitations that come with it, and knowing him he will fuck up. Johnny can have her for all he cares however. Not before him
