Today marked the six-month anniversary of Lex Luthor disappearing. Six months. After three months of deep searching and using every resource he could reasonably use, he had just run out of leads. But still, Superman was worried for Lex Luthor. Lex had never disappeared for this long. Sure, he had long periods of time where he wasn't actively trying to destroy Superman, but he was always at least doing things that were LexCorp-related. Superman knew that Lex had to be seen. He was gone for so long that people were already beginning to talk about him less. It would've driven Lex insane to know that people were beginning to forget about him. Superman wondered why he was so concerned about Lex Luthor. That's one worry off of his back. Metropolis is supervillain-ridden enough as it is. And yet Superman couldn't help but be worried for Lex. Especially today.

Clark Kent was at the Fortress of Solitude with his wife, Lois Lane. He sat at his computer, going over his usual rounds to see if there were any signs of Lex. He checked kryptonite-related robberies, government weapons auctions, and even online forums. Lois had just gotten out of the shower and put on a robe. She wrapped her arms around her husband, worried for his mental health.

"Still trying to find Lex?"

Clark rubbed his eyes together in frustration at no further signs of Lex-related action, "Yeah. He's been completely AWOL for months. Even Batman hasn't found anything. I know I should be happy that he isn't doing anything bad, but I'm just worried."

Lois rubbed her husband's shoulders, "With how much you've been trying to find him, I'd say that you were more concerned for Lex's wellbeing rather than his criminal actions."

Clark paused and stared at his screen, he genuinely considered if Lois was right. Clark thought he hated Lex. He's arrogant, prideful, selfish. He's Lex Luthor. He's everything that Clark thinks is wrong with humanity. But Clark still wondered: if he hated Lex Luthor so much, then why is he still searching for him?

Lois noticed that Clark was getting too deep into his own head again and straddled him on his seat.

"You've been working at this for far too long today. Nothing is going to change on that screen tonight. I promise you." Lois kissed her husband, "Now why don't you fly down to Italy to get that wine we like and I won't get mad at you for doing non-emergency work on date night?"

Clark kissed his wife back, realizing that as usual, she was right, "Yes ma'am. On my way."
