————Worrisome grew as each counted day passed, it was said that the lady sharra had planned to send her daughter far from the vale in hopes the dragon queen would not find the innocent girl, yet there was no hope, little dove would always be found by the dragon ever since it flew into its den
☆°•☆ "she cannot stay here when that woman is to take my daughter away from me! i will not allow it, i will not allow her to go!" sharra yelled to the council who tried swaying the woman's decision to obey the orders of queen visenya, the once queen regent of the vale refused and wanted her daughter hidden so visenya could not to find her
"this is far to dangerous my lady, you know the consequences there is to face if we defy her word!" one protested, sharra gritted her teeth glaring at him as her fist tightened "her taking daphne would be even more dangerous! all the horrid things they would inflict upon her if she were to be taken!" she slammed her fist against the table emphasizing her anger "what kind of mother would i be if i let this happen?!"
the council glanced around with saddened looks for the woman, they too did not wish for their once princess to leave the vale and land up in the hands of the dragons—but there is no choice, the safety of their lives and the vale in whole is at stake, they could risk this
"my lady-"
"please stop" a frail voice from behind them all now spoke ceasing the arguments filling the room, all eyes turned and was met with daphne fiddling with her hands nervously, her tear stained cheeks flushed. sharra frowned sadly making her way to her daughter and immediately brought her in a warm embrace "you will not go with them my darling, i won't let you" assured sharra holding her daughter close
daphne leaned into her mother's touch as she would hope this was all a fever dream and she would wake up any moment with her life back to how it was before the invasion of the targaryens, when the vale was far from war and was a peaceful kingdom—but her mind pulled her back to reality and it made daphne sigh deeply knowing what she had to do for the safety of all here
"mother..." daphne pulled from sharra's embrace looking to the similar blue eyes of the woman she inherited "we don't have much time to discuss what is to happen ...if it means that everyone here will be safe and alive, than i will ...go with her" she said reluctantly
sharra's eyes widened at this "what? daphne no-" daphne shook her head cutting her mother off as she held the woman's hands in hers "ronnel is far to young to be faced with what occurs currently, and everyone here is at risk of losing their lives if i do not go mother" daphne tried speaking through her mother
but sharra shook her head "no daphne, you will go as far away as possible from here and i will do everything in my power to keep you hidden from her" she said sternly
daphne frowned "would you truly let everyone die just so i could stay? that is wrong mother"
"you are my daughter" sharra's eyes filled with tears keeping that tight grip on daphne "i cannot lose you aswell" remorse ranked through sharra as the thought of her husband flashed by her mind as she looked to her daughter
daphne's bottom lip quivered lightly "you won't lose me—but i cannot let the people of the vale die because of a decision concerning me, when we were rulers mother we promised to always protect them and that's what i'm doing, so please just listen to me" she begged
"the lady daphne is right, my lady..." another council member spoke up in daphne's defense and soon the others nodded wordlessly in agreement
sharra stayed still for a moment as her mind reeled on what decision to make, the pros and cons of it all weighed like a rock carried by a feather as she couldn't keep the cons from haunting her head. her daughter was to innocent for the harsh world and she had always kept her from it, now it seems as though fate wish for daphne to break from that innocent and naive shell and face the harshness headstrong—oh how sharra hated this, all of this
"mother please..." daphne pleaded looking to the eyes of her mother "let me do this for ronnel so that he could grow in his youth, alive"
sharra sighed closing her eyes before hesitantly nodding "...okay, but you will send a raven every single day you are there and tell me everything"
daphne nodded before her brows frowned sadly as tears coated her sapphire eyes "i shall find a way to return, i promise" she sniffed hugging her mother tightly
sharra returned the embrace just as tight kissing the crown of daphne's head "oh my sweet child" the two stayed in each other's arms as the worries and fears washed away momentarily and the mother-daughter love assured them that all will be well. daphne had hoped all shall be well as she anticipated the return of visenya to the her away from her family for a reason she had no knowledge of
power mayhaps?
but she grew spiteful of the dragon queen as daphne saw her as nothing but selfish and power hungry who would rip everything apart just for it to fit in her order, oh how daphne began to hate her, and she dreaded the days that passed that visenya would fly on her great beast and take her to her new misery
none could have known what was to happen but for now, daphne enjoyed every bit of moments with her family for she had not known when she'll see them again
