The next day you all were gearing up and making plans to protect your city.

"William! There's riders approaching" a man said and William looked making you and Hamish come to his side.

You three looked and saw the princesses personal maid and two guards coming forth.

"A personal escort from the princess" Hamish said

"Aye" William said

"Must have made quite an impression" you said

"Aye" William said and walked off

"Didn't think you were in a tent that long" Hamish said

"Yeah cause she was drooling for him as she rode off into the sunset" you joked and Hamish snorted making William turn to you both rolling his eyes

The woman spoke in French and gave William a letter. Hamish looked to the woman and smiled making you smirk at the cute looks between them.

You all rode of heavy horse.

You, hamish, and William rode on horse and saw Steven riding in

"It's true! The English ships are coming from the south. I don't know about the welsh yet but the Irish have landed. I had to see it myself to believe it."

"Why are the Irish fighting with the English?" Hamish asked

"I wouldn't worry about them, didn't I tell you before. It's my island." Steven laughed and joined you three in riding forth

"Hamish, y/n, ride ahead to erdinburgh and assemble the council. Order it." William said

"Aye" you both said and rode on

Hamish looked to you and you looked to him you both smirking and making the horse ride a race

"You aren't goin to win!" Hamish yelled

"You're horse can't run with your fatass, and mine is the fastest horse in Scotland" you yelled and made your horse go faster able to get there first

You assembled a council and they all gathered in the hall

The doors opened and Robert the Bruce walked through followed by the rest. His eyes looked at you in a certain way that you couldn't tell.

"Where is sir William?" Robert asked

"He shall be here soon. Till then we all sit." You ordered

"We don't take orders from a woman" Craig said and walked forward but you pulled out your sword and held it to his throat.

"How many women have you met that can fight?" You asked and he stated in shock

"None" he said

"Do you want to find out?" You asked and he shook his head

"Then sit your arse down" you ordered and they all sat

They were arguing while you and Hamish guarded the door when soon William walked in followed by Steven and Campbell.

"My army has marched for many days. And we still have preparations to make, so I'll make this plain. We require every soldier you can summon, your personal escorts, even yourselves. And we need them now." William said

"With such a force arrayed against us, it's time to discuss other options." Craig said

"Other options? Don't you with at least to lead your men onto the field. To fight against longshanks and try to win before you tuck tails and run!" William said

"Sir William" Robert said

"We cannot defeat this army" Craig said

"We can!" William yelled

"Sir William" Robert said

"And we will. We won at York and you would not support us. If you'll no stand up with us now. I'd say you're cowards." William said and they all drew their swords but Hamish slammed his axe on the table to stop them

"And if you are Scottish, then I'm ashamed to call myself one." William said

"Please sir William speak to me alone" Robert said and William came to his side

"You've achieved so much by lighting these odds. But fighting all this looks like rage not courage." Robert said

"It's beyond rage. Help me. In the name of Christ help yourselves. If you fight, we can win. We'll have what non of us have ever had before. A country of our own. You're the rightful leader, and there is strength in you I see it. Unite us... unite us. Unite the clans." William said holding out his hand and Robert looked to it

He connect his hands with willams and looked to you making you smile slightly.

William and some of you went to falkirk and poured oil along the grass preparing for war.
