Chapter 3: Tragedy

Note: Hi! sorry this took so long to finish I wanted to make this chapter as long as the others. I tried really hard to get a good image with my writing because this was the first real battle that I've written. Any way thanks for reading my newest chapter as if right now! 

Now where did we leave off, oh yes the brat getting expelled

"What!" He yelled "But I haven't got a girlfriend yet!" He yelled in anger. "That's your reaction, really?" Shinso asked, "Whatever, where do you live?" "I'm not going to tell you." "Then walk yourself!" "What, I want a portal!" He shrieked "Fine," I made a portal to get him to leave and he slowly walked over to it, sadly taking his sweet time, so I gave him a little push. "GO FASTER!" I yelled, kicking him into the portal and closing it. "Okay, what's next, Aizawa Sensei?" "We are going to go home, have fun problem children!" "Okay, Permis-" "Just do it!" He yelled before I could finish, "Okay," I said while making two more portals to get changed again.

There are normal core classes in UA, like English and other classes and they are all in the morning right before lunch in the main cafeteria, where we buy our food to eat. Then in the afternoon, we have our hero course. Anyway, I was sitting in my hero course class talking to my friends waiting for Aizawa Sensei but what I wasn't expecting was All Might to walk through "THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!" He yelled, he was wearing his silver age costume and everyone was talking and cheering as he walked to the podium. "HELLO, CLASS 1-A! WE ARE GOING TO BE DOING SOME REAL COMBAT TRAINING!" He yelled making our class cheer louder, "NOW EVERYONE GRAB. YOUR. COSTUMES!" He yelled and everyone was looking toward boxes coming out of the wall each with different numbers on them. "GET READY AND MEET ME AT TRAINING GROUND BETA!" "YES SIR!" The class said in unison. After everyone got ready we all walked down a long hallway and emerged out of the darkness in front of all-might like badasses. After we all stopped talking about our costumes (Note: The Cover Page of this Story is Phantom and his costume, I dunno why I used Phantom, guess I just thought he looked cool) we started listening to all mights explanation of the training exercise "YOU ALL LOOK FABULOUS, NOW YOU WILL ALL BE DOING A 2v2 BATTLE AGAINST CLASSMATES." Allmight informed us, and one by one people started asking questions and it was obvious that he sucked at being a teacher and not doing a proper strategy to answer all of the questions so like the Captain that I am, I walk up to him and stand next to him ready to use my Captain voice to get people to stop asking questions. "EVERYONE SHUT!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. They all stopped talking and looked at me "We are to do this in a normal school fashion, everyone raise your hands and Mr. All might sir will answer them one at a time!" I shouted "Thank you Young...?" "Deku... also can I talk to you after this all of this training?" "Sure Young Deku." He said trying to be quiet like how I was. "ALRIGHT! NOW WE WILL DO A LOTTERY DRAWING TO FIND OUR TEAMS!" He yelled triumphantly. After all of that shenanigans, I got on Team A with Uraraka, so I walked over to her then when all might saw everyone partnered up he spoke once more "NOW THAT YOU ALL OF YOUR PARTNERS WE WILL HAVE ONE TEAM, THE VILLAIN PROTECTING A BOMB. WHILE THE HERO TEAM WILL TRY TO TOUCH THE BOMB. EVERYTHING GOES, AS LONG AS NO ONE CAN GET SERIOUSLY HURT!" After that I got to go against Kacchan, and Tenya Iida as they were team D. We watched them go into the building while we waited outside from all might's order. The rest of the students were in an observation room so they could watch the fight and I started to think up some strategies we could use, I had to factor in what Izumi said to me before I left to get here.

Flashback

"Okay Izuku, Kacchan always fights the same way he will come running as fast as he can, and then he will start with a right hook, just remember that, Okay?" "Of course and thanks!."

Flashback end

"Okay we just need to find the bomb so I think I will fight Kacchan whi-" "Who's Kacchan?" Uraraka questions "Oh it's a nickname for Katsuki Bakugo when we were kids." "You knew each other." "Yup me and his mother knew each other so we naturally played together." "Oh cool." "Anyway as I was saying, I will fight Kacchan while you go find the bomb. I try to end this quick." I said. "HEROS WILL NOW ENTER THE BUILDING!" I heard all might over the PDA. "Alright, it's game time." I whisper. We slowly started to walk into the building on guard ready for anything, We walked for a little bit but then I heard across the hallway "DEKUUU! I'M GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!" It sounded like Kacchan. "Okay on my signal I want you to rush to those stairs." I said to Uraraka, she nodded and I signaled her to stay behind me. Kacchan started getting into view and like Izumi said "A right hook," I whispered under my breath seeing him going for a right hook. I quickly dodged and moved to his left, I swiftly made a portal and reached in pulling out my weapon before closing it the portal. He looked back at me and exploded his hand trying to explode me but I hastily jumped above the explosion and onto the rook behind him. I then propelled myself at him from the roof and as I predicted he predicted I would come from behind and tried to explode me while not even looking but I predicted that too like I could see the future and in the trajectory I was going I made a portal and slipped through it coming from his right and kicking him in the face temporarily paralyzing him. I used this moment to get Uraraka to the stairs. She understood and started running towards the stairs. I looked back at Kacchan to see some blood from the kick he looked even more pissed than before "DIE!" He yelled lunging towards me ready to ignite an explosion. I made another portal underneath my feet and fell above him. He looked up to see no one there and that's because I grabbed onto the pole on the ceiling and waited for him to look up so I could go back into the portal and using the hilt of my katana, I knocked him out. I swiftly handcuffed him and made a portal to where Uraraka was. When I get there I see Iida doing something villainy or whatever, I didn't really pay any attention. I teleported behind him and knocked him out and while I handcuffed Iida I let Uraraka touch the bomb so she didn't feel like she was useless. "THE HERO'S WIN!" I heard. "We won pretty easily." I said blandy "I wish I could've done more." Uraraka said while sulking "Hey it's okay we just got to carry these big oafs back to the start." "Okay!" She said excited she can help. "So do you want to carry Iida or Kacchan?" "I would rather hold Iida. I bet Kacchan will blow me up if he finds out I was carrying him." Okay!" I said as I started to walk away making sure to wait for Uraraka to catch up. We walked down the stairs and expecting a knocked-out Kacchan, but instead, he was just standing there, menacingly. He was facing away with his head looking down "Hey Kacchan! The round's over, let's head back, okay?" I requested of him, but he didn't move, so we got a little closer until I heard him whisper under his breath that if I wasn't a werewolf I wouldn't be able to hear him but he said "H-how could I fail? I'm destined to be the No. 1 hero, I can't lose. No, I will win, I vow it." I tried to remind him that the round was over when I heard that. "Hey, Kacchan you know the rounds over right?" "Shut the hell up you stupid Deku." He said slowly as he started to turn around and he showed us his face, it was a little beat up but it wasn't serious but still, he was glaring daggers at me and he had the same look of villains right before they planned to do something horrible. He slowly lifted his right at us as if the world slowed down. Then his left arm went to the pin on his grenade arm, and my eyes widened. "YOUNG BAKUGO DON'T THEY'LL DIE!" All might yelled, "Not if they dodge," He whispered, he pulled the pin on his arm and a massive explosion came right for us, I couldn't make any more portals, because it would take to long so I had to push all three of us away, so I turned to my left and shoved a scared looking Uraraka out of the way, but something I didn't calculate was Uraraka dropping Iida, I looked back at the now awake Iida, I tried to grab at him but it was too late. I watched helplessly as Iida was engulfed in the explosion, he looked utterly terrified and if only I had 0.5 more seconds I could've saved him. It felt like time fully stopped, as his skin was burning off his body, then like a slingshot, everything went back to normal. When the explosion dispersed I looked down to find a burnt, crisped, and lifeless body. He had lost his arm and leg and was dead. I stood there while Uraraka started to cry out of fear at the fact our classmate just died. I'd seen my friends from other squads die multiple times when I was at the C.E.F. but this was different. He wasn't supposed to die, it was a battle exercise. I shot a glance at Kacchan, he was just looking at the dead body, and he was the culprit. All might smashed through the roof to see if Iida was alright but he wasn't. I looked into All Might's eyes and they were scared, he no longer had his signature smile. A child had just died on his watch, and it was his fault. He suggested doing the exercise, but it wasn't entirely his fault. Kacchan was the one who set off the explosion, Iida's blood was on his hands. Phantom went out of ghost form and looked pretty sad. I guessed he probably just talked to Iida, (Note: If you think imma just find a way to bring Iida back, then you're wrong he's dead and out of this story forever so uh, keep that in mind, sorry if you like Iida but I wanted someone to die and it just happened to be Iida so yeah sorry.) "Hey, Iida is going to go follow his family from now on. Don't feel bad it's not your fault." Phantom said trying to make me feel better knowing that I was blaming myself. "If, if only I was faster if only I-I just didn't go overboard on Kacchan, m-maybe if I just, predicted that this was going to happen. Then maybe I could've saved him." I kept ranting on and on about things I could've done to save him but when someone dies it's too late. I knew Kacchan regretted what he just did, and was probably regretting his life choices up to this point, but the funny thing about regret is that it always comes too late. My squad was and classmates were grieving and trying to convince me it wasn't my fault, but deep in my heart, I knew it was, if only I weren't so stupid. The teachers were restraining Kacchan after the stunt he just pulled. The whole classroom was crying and we all went back to the school I went to Nezu's office to inform him that a student had died because he hadn't been informed yet. I walked to the door and knocked at the door, and heard other voices meant that he was probably in a meeting "Come in." I heard the rodent speak. I opened the door and was ready to inform them of what happened "Sir, there has been a tragic incident. A student has committed a murder on another student in battle training. He is confirmed dead, the student's name is Tenya Iida, and his murderer is Katsuki Bakugo." When I finished the heroes in the room were shocked. "What were you doing?!?!" one hero demanded "How did he die?!?!" Another blurted "Be quiet let the boy explain exactly what happened." Nezu interrupted. "We did battle training as commanded from All Might, I was on team A with one teammate while Katuski was on team d and we went against each other. My quirk is portal, so I can make portals. I fought Bakugo and knocked him out, then found the fake bomb and knocked out Iida, my teammate carried Iida and when we came down Bakugo was standing there and then he detonated his ultimate move straight at us, it was an explosion. I pushed my teammate out of the way seeing what was going to happen but with the sudden movement, she dropped our classmate who was then brutally exploded, and killed instantly. I'm sorry I wish I had done something different to save him, I apologize." I finished, while the heroes were speechless for a moment "Well, was the murder on purpose?" A hero asked, "It is kind of both." "Please explain." I nodded and explained "Right before he set off the bomb, all might warned him that it could kill us." then pointing at my wolf ears I continued "I heard him whisper "Not if they dodge." So I believe that Bakugo didn't think we wouldn't dodge." I said, " I see." Nezu said, " You are excused, we decide what will happen to Bakugo." Nezu adde. I nodded and left the room to go back to my classroom to grieve. I went up to a girl whose quirk could make flower's and I wanted to put flowers on Iida's desk "Hey!" I yelled trying to her attention, and she turned around "Let me guess you need a flower." She said, "How did you know?" I questioned, "Everyone is class 1-A is asking for a flower but they won't tell me why." She said annoyed "Oh, I can tell you." I suggested "Really? Well, what is it?" "Our classmate Tenya Iida, died during training today." I said seeing her eyes widen so much that some of the other students started asking what happened, so I said it again but louder "My classmate in the class 1-A has died during training." Some started crying, some started accusing me of lying, and some just stood there in shock. "May I have the flower?" I asked "D-do you not even care! You seem like you don't care at all he's dead!" She screamed startling me. I looked at her, as my eyes glistened a little thinking of all of my friends that have died in battle. "Sorry, lots of my close friends have died on my watch. It just comes with being alive, I can't do much about it anymore. Like how I can't do much anymore for him." "Well then get away, you probably are cursed for all of your friends to die." She accused "No that's not it, I'm in the C.E.F. I've been told to not grieve, I can't help it. Anyway, sorry for bringing the mood down, I'll just go." I always try to act like I don't care when someone dies because that's not how the C.E.F. works. But I still grieved and regretted and I was still sad about every one of my friends I've seen die, I missed them. I felt tears running down my face as I heard the girl apologize. After walking for a bit I walked into the class, it was pretty obvious what I was feeling by my wolf features so I knew the second that I walked in the whole class would know what I was feeling. It was probably confusing because when he actually died I wasn't sad, but then I walked in, and now I was sad. No one said anything, I just walked to my desk and sat down staring at the empty seat of Iida. "Hey Deku, did you get a flower for Iida?" Izumi asked. I sighed a little before mumbling "I couldn't get one. I told the flower girl what happened and she just got mad at me so I left." I looked around and I couldn't see Phantom, and without thinking I said his real name "Izumi, do you know where Akira is?" I said looking at her, she put on a confused face before asking "Who's Akira?" my eyes widened slightly before explaining who he was "Akira, is Phantom's real name." "Oh," She said, "Don't tell him I told you that, he'll beat me up if he found out." I requested, and then Phantom appeared in front of me. "Oh, hey." I said sadly "Deku! You need to stop being such a wimp!" He yelled, " Heh, I know but I can't help it you know I get like this when someone dies on my watch." "Yeah, I know and that's why you need to stop! It's happened too many times!" Phantom yelled breaking the silence once again. Some of the class looked at us with even more confused faces when Uraraka asked "What do mean?" "Oh, forgot you don't know where we are from, we grew up in the C.E.F. and Deku here, has seen a lot of his friends die in front of him and he always gets like this when he feels safe." "Shuddup..." I mutter at him "I don't feel like it," "Do you ever feel anything?" "That's fair."

Timeskip

Kacchan wasn't expelled for his crime of accidental man-slaughter, but he had quirk-canceling cuffs that cancels quirks. Everybody was so gloomy for a while, I got better after about 2 days, but not everyone else. Everyone probably wasn't expecting a full on murder on the second day. I was sitting in class and I remembered when I had to tell Iida's parents that he was killed, I felt like it was my responsibility because I could've saved him.

Flashback

"We need someone to tell Iida's parents that he..." Aizawa paused for a moment before continuing "D-died" I quickly raised my hand hoping he would pick me "Deku, I'm giving you that responsibility." "Th-thank you sir." I said quietly. After school ended I started to head towards the address I was given. When I got to the door, I felt a pang in my stomach thinking about their faces when they find out. I've done it a couple times when the C.E.F worked with the military. I lifted my hand up to knock the door, when it suddenly opened with a woman coming out not looking ahead so I had to quickly dodge and then she saw me. "WAH! W-who are?" She yelled in fear. "Sorry, for interrupting but I have some very important and bad news to tell you." "Well what are they?" She yelled annoyed and probably in a hurry. I looked down to not show the tears building up in my eyes before looking her straight into her eyes. She was a little startled and then she saw the glisten in my eyes. "Your, s-son Tenya Iida... h-has died today during class. I'm sorry it was my fault! I-I-I..." I stopped and looked down again " I wasn't fast enough...to save him. He died in a very painful way. O-or what I would assume would be painful." I stopped talking before a felt a slap on my cheek. I knew it was because she didn't believe him and was mad that I would try to lie, but I wasn't lying and he was dead forever. I felt like I deserved that slap, and from now on I was going to train like there was no tomorrow. I looked up again now with a red hand mark and she stared into my eyes hoping for anysign on a lie, and I showed none. It was that moment when she started to bawl her eyes out, it was very loud and a man, who was her husband came out trying to find the source of the sound, to find me trying to comfort the woman. I explained that that his son was dead, and I left to go back to the classroom. I walked back to the C.E.F to go to bed.

Flashback end

I walked into class 1-A and noticed people talking like how they were on the first day of school, just less loud, and more sad, but it was better. I walked to my seat with my friends and waited for class to start. A tired Aizawa sensei only being powered by coffee, walks into the classroom. "Good morning class, today you are going to choose our class president." He said "Okay." We all responded enthusiastically. I looked at Iida's empty seat full of flowers. Iida would've been a perfect class president. I stood up and said something I thought Iida might've said "Alright Guys! We are going to do a class vote!" I yelled to make sure everyone heard "But won't everyone vote for themselves." Kirishima said blandly. I sighed a little before coming up with an Idea. "Okay, how about everyone goes up here and tells each other our names and quirks and other things. Then we vote on each other!" I said "Okay, I guess we could do that." The class said sounding a little better, "Sweet! I'll go first. I'm Deku, my real name is Izuku Midoriya a-" "Midoriya!?" Most of the class shouts "Yep! That's right, I the brother on Izumi Midoriya, but still just call me Deku," I said "What does Deku mean?" Kaminari said. "Oh, I got my callsign when I looked weak and dumb, so it means Defenseless Izuku, Deku." "Oh, sorry." "No it's okay, anyway I've killed 248 villain's. "WHAT?!" most of the class screamed once again. "Yep, I'm in the C.E.F it's a part of my job. Anyway I have 3 quirks-" "3!?!?" Most of the class yelled for the 3rd time in like 3 minutes, "I can make portals, I am a half-werewolf and I can regenerate almost anything." "OH, cool." "Alright, Phantom your up!" I said "Okay." he said walking up to the podium "Phantom, real name Akira Hankaku, I can turn into a ghost, no I'm not dead, and I also have regeneration. (All of the Characters introduce themselves, if you don't know then... not my problem...) "Okay, are we all ready to vote?" "Yup!" the class said "Alright I'll hand out the papers." After I did that we all voted, I voted for Momo. I thought she would be the best, after we counted and "The person with the most votes is... ME?" I screeched in surprise.

Any way that's it from me! sry if you liked Iida but someone had to die. I'll try to keep track on how many words are each chapter so this Chapter has
