three weeks have passed since the tragic incident, and you've managed to get back on your feet after dealing with the shock and grief of your manager's murder. after the incident first occurred, you had to cancel your scheduled shifts for the week as you felt too weighed down to even get out of bed.

you don't even know why you felt so guilty. deep down, you knew the way he treated you was appalling, but you couldn't help but feel sorry for him and his loved ones. you believed that no one deserves their lives to be taken in a such a cruel way.

despite the mental and emotional struggle you had dealt with in the past weeks, johnny was nothing but doting towards you. he has come over to your apartment every single day to check up on you and take care of you. from feeding you when you didn't have the energy to get out of bed and feed yourself - to distracting you from your unpleasant thoughts by planning disney movie marathons with you, he's done everything that you'd imagine a perfect boyfriend would do in this situation. and you couldn't be more grateful.

meanwhile, yuta felt like he was going insane. regret had finally begun to sink in a few days after he committed his despicable actions. he had heard from johnny just how much this situation had affected you. part of him really did feel sorry for you. you're such a kind soul who is always considerate of others, it's something a lot of people admire about you. yuta, however, only sees this as a weakness. and it is because of this that yuta felt a strong urge to protect you.

despite his feelings for you, yuta dealt with his regretful thoughts through the only thing he's ever known - getting high, and having one night stands with random girls. although, he knew none of them could ever compare to you, but it was the only way to distract him when he didn't want to face his harsh reality - that he is a murderer.

for awhile, yuta's method of coping managed to keep him sane. that is until he saw you at a party with johnny's large arm around your shoulder as you lovingly stare at him while he makes conversation with jungwoo and taeil.

seeing you took him by surprise due to the fact that he thought you would've still been grieving your manager (who yuta still believes deserved to die, by the way). but you looked like you were the opposite with that beautiful smile plastered on your face. yuta would have had hearts in his eyes if it wasn't for the fact that you were looking at johnny, not him.

'i need to get out of here' he thinks to himself, but just before he turns to walk away from the scene, he hears an all too familiar voice call for him from across the room.

"hey yuta!" johnny shouts with a wide smile.

yuta freezes, unsure if he should walk away or walk towards your group, where johnny is motioning for him to come over to them with his hands. however, yuta finally makes a decision when he notices you smiling with your eyes on him. 'fuck it' yuta curses as he makes his way towards you.

'shit' you think to yourself as you notice yuta walking towards you and johnny. with the cold glare on his face as he gets closer, you think you may have angered him by smiling at him. it wouldn't be hard to believe since his behaviour over the course of knowing him shows his dislike towards you. you look down in shame as you're graced with yuta's presence, too afraid to even say anything to him. for some reason, he looks more intimidating than usual, and you're not too sure why.

of course yuta notices this, before he even gets a chance to speak, you quietly excuse yourself from the group with a "sorry, i need to go to the toilet", and quickly walk towards the staircase across the room, prompting a worried johnny to attempt to follow you. yuta, however, quickly stops him.

"you don't need to follow her everywhere. she's not a baby" he comments, sarcasm laced in his tone. johnny frowns at this, but yuta quickly retracts his remark by laughing, "it's just a joke john, she'll be fine. don't worry".

johnny visibly relaxes at this, and the two men - along with jungwoo and taeil - start conversing.

meanwhile, you were almost on the verge of having a panic attack in the bathroom upstairs. unsure of why you feel this way, you begin to recount all the interactions you've had with yuta. sure, he's always been cold towards you but something about him seems different tonight. the way he glared at you earlier made your stomach churn. it's like your gut is trying to tell you something, but you're not sure what.

after what felt like an hour of trying to calm yourself down - but was actually twenty minutes - you hear a knock on the bathroom door. you open the door, expecting to see johnny.

however, the man standing in front of you is not at all your boyfriend. it's yuta.
