Dominion

Chapter One

Clarissa's POV

I sat there at my desk at Biosyn, looking at the photo of Lottie and baby Maisie. Ian and I hatched a plan to take Biosyn down from the inside and finally put this madness to rest. During a press conference, Dodgson and I announced that we are working together to learn about their immune systems and make the world a better place. I asked Owen to take care of any poachers and let me know. Henry Wu was ecstatic to see me and hasn't left my side since I started working after the Lockwood estate incident.

Ever since the dinosaurs roamed free with us, the public confronts me more and more about destroying them once and for all, claiming that Ian and I were right all along. I have Dodgson and Wu eating out of the palm of my hand.

Ariana's POV

"I said I didn't go past the bridge," Maisie snapped and Claire looked astonished. Maisie stomped into the cabin and I sighed, following her, "Maisie, can we start over?" Maisie nodded, "I know, Ariana. There are people out there who'll do anything to find me." I smiled softly, "I'm not angry. So that means you don't have to be angry." Maisie threw wood in the fire and slammed the door shut, "I'm not angry. I can take care of myself." 

Claire called out to her, "It's okay for us to depend on each other. That's what people do." Maisie threw her beanie down, "How would I know what people do!? The only people I've spoken to in the past five years are you three. I was promised that I would be taken straight to Clary and that was broken. Besides, I'm not even a real person anyway." I furrowed my eyebrows, "What?" 

Maisie sighed and sat on her bed, "I was made from someone else. Just like Clary. She's the only one who could even understand. I'm not me." I walked over to her and grabbed her hands, "You're the only you who ever was." We all paused and I sheepishly grinned, "That was really corny wasn't it?" Maisie chuckled, "It was so corny."

I flushed, "Can we keep that between the three of us?" Claire giggled as Maisie grinned, "Can't promise that." The three of us turned to see Owen driving up and Maisie smiled, running out to greet her brother. Owen smiled and hugged Maisie, "Sorry for being late, little sis." Maisie walked back inside, "You smell like horses."

I grinned and hummed, "Mhmm." Owen brought me closer and smirked, "Oh, you like that don't you?" We kissed as Claire gagged and Maisie walked back inside, "Okayyy. I'm going to go make dinner." Owen looked at Claire and I, "Everything okay?" I sighed, "She went into town again. She wants Clarissa." Owen sighed, "This kid. I'll talk to her."

Clarissa's POV

I grinned at Ian as he sat on the edge of my desk, "I bet you that Ellie and Alan get together after all of this." Ian snorted, "Honey, if they aren't together already, I am going to riot. Besides, I got Sattler and Grant to come here. Clare, the start of your plan begins now." I smirked and stood up, wrapping my arms around his waist, "The future is looking quite free. Don't you think?" Ian placed a hand on my chin and smirked back, "I can't wait to see the look on Dodgson and Wu's faces when you pull this off." I kissed his lips, "I've been pulling this charade for four and a half years. Three more days won't hurt a thing." 

Ramsey walked into my office and smiled at me, "Mrs. Malcolm, our guests are almost here." I smiled, "Thank you for everything, Ramsey." Ramsey smiled softly, "I should be thanking you. You will be the reason the human race survives. Hammond Corporation, Masrani Corporation, Lockwood Estates, and now Biosyn. You are the richest heiress in the world and you continue to use that fortune to help the people." 

I nodded, "It will stay that way, as long as I have your help." Ramsey smiled and nodded, "I will always be on your side. I know Deckard won't leave it either." Ian kissed my head, "Go greet our friends. I have a lecture to do." Ian walked towards the lecture hall as Ramsey and I walked together to the entrance of Biosyn. Ramsey informed me on the way there that he would go get the two himself. 

I smiled fakely and nodded at Dodgson when he walked up. "The T-Rex from Nublar showed up just to inform you." I suppressed a shiver, "I'm happy to provide Biosyn with everything for its success." Dodgson smiled at me, "I'm so happy that we can work together on this. Without you, nothing would be possible." Dodgson and I looked over and I smiled widely, "Ellie, Alan." Ellie squealed and hurried over to hug me, "I see you and Ian are still going strong." Alan nodded, "You figure after twenty-nine years, you'd tire of him." Dodgson smiled, "Doctors. Respected, renowned Dr. Sattler, Dr. Grant. I see you remember Dr. Hammond. Everyone here knows who she is married to, but you say Dr. Malcolm and they both answer so it's easier this way. I'm Lewis." 

Ellie shook his hand, "Dodgson. Yeah." Alan raised an eyebrow, "You're Lewis Dodgson?" Ellie chuckled, "We didn't expect to actually see you here." Dodgson smiled, "Oh, well. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," Dodgson pointed at Ramsey, "Would you?" Rasmey chuckled, "No." I smiled, "The people you see here are changing the world." Dodgson smiled, "Wise words from a wise woman. Would you all mind if we, uh, get a photo of all-" 

Before any of us could answer, the camera started flashing and Ellie and Alan glanced at me in confusion. Dodgson held Ellie's arm, "So, you are going to see some remarkable things today. Clary and I are unlocking the true power of the genome. Our geneticists have found in all the dinosaurs but one a mysterious genome that they can't explain, but it doesn't affect any of them so we decided to leave it and we love it!" 

I walked behind Alan, Ellie, and Dodgson with Ramsey and we shared a look, knowing exactly what the genome was. Ellie muttered, "You're going to make a fortune with that." Dodgson shook his head, "No, it's not about money. No, we've already identified dozens of applications for paleo-DNA. We're talking about cancer, Alzheimer's, autoimmune. We will be saving lives, but...shhhh. Um, anyway, I wish I could take you around myself, but, uh, it's, uh. So you're in more than capable hands with Ramsey and Dr. Hammond. He's basically a young me, only smarter and uh, taller. You either of you have food?" 

I pulled out one of Dodgson's granola bars, handing it to him and he smiled, "You always know what I need. So, uh, I want to do more of this, um, later on if we, um. Oh, we booked you a private pod for the trip out, so.. It's beautiful, you'll love it. Through the caverns and everything. Uh, you better hurry. Malcolm's on. He's a bit of a contrarian, but I like him. He's my partner's husband, but he keeps us on our toes. Thank you for being here." Dodgson hurried off and I nodded as Ramsey, "Okay, um, follow me please."

Ramsey walked in front of us and I grinned at Ellie and Alan, who looked at me funny, "Don't worry. It will make sense soon."
