Percy didn't realize that taking on the role as best man made him an official wedding planner. It was a month later and he was always running off on his phone making reservations for one thing or another. That meant Annabeth was stuck with the chores. She didn't know if she could possibly do that and take care of the kids, so she was greatful when Poseidon decided to help her out. Every now and then he would come over and distract the kids or take them out somewhere. It took off a lot of stress.
One day right before dinner Percy took out the blue tooth. Annabeth was glad for that, she needed someone to clean up the living room, but he looked exhausted.
"I am NOT the party planning type." He told her.
Annabeth sighed. She knew he was only doing this because he wanted to help Nico but it was putting too much stress on him. At that moment Poseidon walked in with the kids and...Athena?
"Mom?" Annabeth asked, shocked. "What are you doing here?" Athena had only visited once before. And that was back when Blaine was first born.
"I wanted to see my grandchildren, and to make sure that one-" she pointed at Percy "was taking care of things."
Poseidon looked exasperated. Annabeth knew he hated when she talked about Percy like that.
"We'll just be leaving." He said. Annabeth and Percy closed their eyes and shielded their kids as the gods showed their true forms and left. Annabeth looked at them. Poseidon and Athena had given them gifts. Blaine had a new skateboard, Annabell had a new book, Sebastian had sketchpad, and Annie had a doll. As three of them went off to play, Blaine walked up to Annabeth.
"Hey Mom, can I get my permit? I am 15 already."
Percy have Annabeth that look and she knew they were thinking the same thing. Oh no.
But she couldn't deny him a permit if he wanted it so she said okay. "I'll get you the test book tomorrow."
"I already got it, and I studied. Im ready to take the test."
"Alright son your father will take you." She said.
"Tomorrow." Percy told him.
"But-"
"Tomorrow." He did look really exausted.
Annabeth called for dinner and the 6 sat around the table. They gave part of their food to the gods and ate the delicious meal. A little bit after dinner when Annabeth was cleaning up, Annie bounded in.
"Mommy can I have a cookie?" Annabeth sighed. She already had three today. "No."
Out out of the corner of her eye Annabeth saw Percy sneak a sulking Annie a cookie. When she ran off, Annabeth turned around and hit Percy with the wet dish towel.
"What?" He said, feigning innocence.
"Im not blind Percy. I saw that!"
"Oh come on." He said. "She's a kid. Haven't you heard of Yolo? You only live once, unless your like... Kronos or something."
The room got a dark chill. "Your always to careless about throwing around names Perseus Jackson."
Percy gave that adorable pout and pulled Annabeth into a hug. "Im sorry. No more cookies." He said just as Annie was walking by.
"Traitor!" She growled.
Percy looked at Annabeth with pretend terror and they both laughed again.
She hit him with the dish towel again. "Go clean or something."
"You know your cute when your mad." He told her.
"Well I'm going to get adorable if you don't clean." She snarled and he sighed.
"Fine."
Annabeth watched him walk away trying not to laugh again as she turned back to the dishes.
She finished and was wiping down the table when Percy walked into the room.
"What would you say about a family vacation."
That caught her interest. "Where?"
"Greece. For like a month."
"That would be wonderful Percy but they have school."
"Annabeth your a super genius. You and Sebastian can help Annie, Blaine and Annabell make up all the work they miss. In like ten minutes."
Annabeth sighed. She wasn't sure about them leaving school for so long but the trip did sound amazing. "I'll think about it."
"Great because I already bought the tickets."
She stared at Percy. She couldn't find it in herself to be mad because she really should have expected that. "When are we leaving?"
"3 months from now. I want to be able to help Nico as much as possible and then we are gone."
"Any thing else you did that you neglected to tell me?" Annabeth asked.
"Nope. I think that's it." He told her. "Wait no! I actually invited some friends over." He said.
"Who?"
There was a knock on the door and Percy opened it.
"The Seven is back together!" Yelled a cheerful Leo Valdez. He walked in trailed by his wife Calypso, whom Annabeth was weary of, Jason, Piper, Frank, and Hazel. All trailed by their own kids. Annabeth was glad for the big house or they would have been cramped.
Most of their kids were around Blaine and Annabell's age so she sent them toward their rooms, and the rest of the younger kids went to play in the lounge upstairs with Annie and Sebastian. That left the adults free in the living room to talk.
And talk they did, for hours on end. Annabeth couldn't remember the last time all seven had sat around and talked like this. About one thing to the next, laughing about when Frank accidentally changed into a cat and got stuck in a tree, or talking about Leo and Calypso's new buisness. They heard Piper had a daughter on the way. Just talking and laughing like the good old days took a off a lot of stress and she relaxed into Percy, sipping a hot chocolate and just had fun.
