Christmas just ended, winter break is going on and the Peanuts Gang are having a fun time. Even the often mellow Charlie Brown. The boy lays under his blanket, in a calm sleep with cool air chilling the room. But all good things come to an end, the living room phone rings and rings. Charles grunts, and groans getting up, blanket around him and picks up the phone. "Hey Chuck, how you doing ." Peppermint Patty was standing on the other line, twirling with the rotary cord of the phone. "Peppermint Patty, what you want at this time?" The boy drowsily said, yawning after his words. "Well Chuck, I was wondering if you'd come over and help me and my folk get some fireworks." "Oh, ah- Well..." "GREAT! It's a date Chuck." Patty closes the call not letting Charlie to get a breath in. "Good grief." Charlie let out putting his phone down, and shuffling back in to bed, drifting off into sleep.
"BIG BORTHER-Big Brother! You've got to wake up!" He is jolted up by his sister's words. "Wha- What is it?" "Get up! Peppermint Patty's outside." Charlie Brown gets off of his bed rubs his eyes, stretches, and takes a long yawn. "Ok, I'll be there." He replies, going to the bathroom to brush his teeth. Snoopy get up out of his dog house, shimming in inside, grabbing some bread and butter, putting the bread into the toaster, making himself a toast. As he is butting his toast Charlie Brown walks out of the bathroom, grabbing his coat and winter hat from the rack. "Oh hey Snoopy, I'll be out with Peppermint Patty today, so make yourself at home." As he finishes buttoning his coat, and putting on his hat, he walkout to the door, walking out. Snoopy quickly finishes his toast, dashing behind Charlie Brown, following him outside.
"Snoopy! You weren't invited, and you'll get a cold! Just get back inside." Charlie Brown points gesturing Snoopy to get back inside, Snoopy slouches forward and walks back home. Charlie Brown shuts the door behind him and walks to Peppermint Patty's Place. "Sir, why do you need my assistance, didn't you call Charles to come?" Marcie asks Patty while struggling to put a box of fireworks in Peppermint Patty's garage. "Well Ol' Chuck ain't here, so I'll be needing your help Marcie." Patty pats Marcie on the back; Marcie dropped the box of fireworks on the floor. The both looked at the fallen box together. "Hey Marcie, Hey Peppermint Patty." A familiar voice announced, he walked into the garage weird forehead curl in all. "Chuck! Thought you'd never come" "Well I did make a promise. Didn't I?" He replied. "Ah Chuck! I knew I could count on you!" Patty said arm around Charlie's shoulder. "Great to see you Charles." "You too Marcie." Marcie grows a patient smile." Peppermint Patty picks up the box from the floor and places it with the rest of them. "Well Chuck we just finished getting the fireworks. And me the gang and Marcie are gonna play some hockey. You wanna play?" She said grabbing a hockey stick from a pile of old toys, and start swinging it around.
"Oh, um I don't really know..." Charlie Brown responds, scratching the little hair he has. "C'mon Chuck! I know if it was that Little Red-Haired Girl you'd say yes in a heartbeat!" Patty said, pointing her hockey stick at Charles. "w-What! Nah uh!" Charlie Brown says getting close to Patty's face. "Woah Chuck! You're trying to make a move aren't yah? You sly-dog!" Snoopy jumps out of the boxes with a red wig on his head, winking at Charlie Brown. "Snoopy! You aren't helping." Snoopy chuckles to himself. "Well, Charles don't try to keep your affection secret." "Well yeah but.." "But Nothin" Charlie is abruptly interrupted by Peppermint Patty. "You joining or not Chuck!?" She says sternly to Charlie Brown. "Ok fine, I'll join." "Great, meet you at the lake, Chuck!" Peppermint Patty and Marcie leave for the lake Marcie waves goodbye to Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown sighs to himself, takes a seat on the floor, and looks up to see Snoopy and Woodstock (The little yellow bird) marching onto the lake, with Woodstock barely managing to take a step with his stick. He gets off the floor and starts walking also.
Charlie Brown walks around the blocks and sees a familiar face. "Oh, hey Linus" "Hey Charlie Brown. Peppermint Patty call you over too?" Linus asks he already knows the answer, but just wants to make sure. "Yeah, you know Peppermint Patty." The both of them have a nice chat about the events of "A Charlie Brown Christmas." They stop ahead of a fence Linus opens a loosened plank with his blanket and they both walk through. They walk to the lake and see a variety of kids all playing on the frozen lake. "Chuck! Thought you'd stand me up again, C'mon!" Peppermint Patty gestures for him to join the game. "Well, you have fun Charlie Brown." Linus smiled back at him. "*sigh* Good grief..." Charlie Brown shuffles onto the Lake walking over to Peppermint Patty. "Linus!" A voice called out from behind him. "Oh no-" "Sweet Babboo! How are you?" "Sally! Don't call that." He says to the girl. "Aww! Why?" "Why are you even here?" He questioned her. "I came to see my big brother." "Oh, guess new goes fast." Sally nods to Linus's words, scooting closer to him they both seeing to altercation.
"Ok! Pig Pen, and Franklin you're on Charlie Brown's team! Marcie, and Schroeder you're on mine!" Peppermint Patty exclaimed. "Uh, I actually want to be on Charlie Brown's tea-" "Alright get ready! We'll be waiting for you!" Peppermint Patty, Marcie, and Schroeder lead over to their goal, leaving Charlie Brown's team to get in formation. "Ok, I can be goalie" Charlie Brown announces. Hope you're ready for thanksgiving, cause your gonna get stuffed with ice!" The remaining stragglers around the lake circle are the rink, sitting on benches, the ground, or just standing. Among the people cheering for Peppermint Patty, or Charlie Brown sat Lucy and two other girls. "There is no way that Charlie Brown is going to win!..Right?" Lucy said to the other girls one shrugged and the other was just looking to the scene on Lake. Snoopy gets on the ice, whistle in hand, and he forms number with his hand. THREE, TWO, ONE! Snoopy blows the whistle the birds shake snow off the trees as they fly off from the sound, as Snoopy scurry's of the ice. "Let's dance, Chuck!"
Peppermint Patty dashes for the hockey puck, Marcie, and Schroeder follow behind. Franklin takes the puck zig zagging towards Peppermint Patty. Franklin pushes the puck to the left, as it slides on the ice Peppermint Patty snatched it from him, and Franklin drops to the cold ice sheet. "Gotcha!" Patty loudly declared. "Don't her through Pig Pen!" Franklin yelled from the ground. Pig Pen clenches his Hockey Stick ready for anything Peppermint
Patty could do. As she grows closer and closer to him, she passes the puck to Marcie! "What the-" SMASH! Peppermint Patty smacked Pig Pen onto the ground. "Don't let her through Charlie Brown!" He screamed from the floor. "Here you go Sir." Marcie passed the puck back to Peppermint Patty. "Here we go!" Peppermint Patty stood above Charlie Brown hitting a little victory dance over him. Lucy chuckled to herself at the moment. "See I knew that blockhead couldn't make it." "Yeah." The other girl replied. "Right, Heather?" The other girl to the side of the first one turned out to be the Little Red Haired Girl, Charlie was into. "Oh, um..." Charlie Brown looks up from the ground seeing the Little Red Haired Girl with Lucy unable to hear what they're talking about. "What! The Little Red Haired Girl is here?!
