Chapter 3: Final crystal

The sun's golden rays pierced through the foliage, casting a warm glow upon Triton, Ribbon, and Listron as they awoke from their peaceful slumber. They stretched their limbs, feeling a renewed sense of energy coursing through their veins. Today was the day they would continue their quest, seeking the remaining two crystal shards that held the key to their destiny.

As they ventured deeper into the enchanted forest, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of the crystals, the sound of rushing water caught their attention. Following the melodic melody, they arrived at a crystal-clear waterfall, cascading down from a height with magnificent grace.

Ribbon's eyes widened with wonder as she peered into the depths of the pool. "This place is so beautiful. I can almost feel the magic in the air."

Triton nodded in agreement; his gaze fixated on the water's mesmerizing flow. "Indeed, Ribbon. We're getting closer to our goal. I can sense it."

Just as they were about to resume their search, a melodic voice echoed through the air. "Greetings, travelers. I am Lori, a mermaid guardian of this enchanted waterfall."

Triton, Ribbon, and Listron turned towards the source of the voice, their curiosity piqued. A graceful mermaid emerged from the sparkling waters, her long flowing hair shimmering in hues of blue and green.

Ribbon's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Wow, a real-life mermaid! This journey just keeps getting more amazing!"

Lori smiled, her voice as melodious as the song of the ocean waves. "I sense that you are on a noble quest. How may I be of assistance?"

Triton stepped forward, a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "We seek the crystal shards, powerful artifacts that hold immense energy. Do you possess one by any chance?"

Lori's eyes flickered with a mix of sadness and longing. "Indeed, I do possess a crystal shard. It grants me the ability to charge my phone with its boundless energy. My phone is my only means of communication with my beloved, and it brings me great joy to be in constant touch with him."

Ribbon's face lit up with enthusiasm. "Lori, we're on a mission to collect the crystal shards to restore balance to our world. We would be eternally grateful if you could part with yours to aid our cause."

Lori's expression turned wistful, a tinge of hesitation coloring her features. "I would love to assist you, but if I were to give up my crystal shard, my phone would lose its source of power, and I would no longer be able to communicate with my beloved. It fills my heart with sadness to imagine being cut off from him."

The group pondered the dilemma, their minds racing with ideas to find a solution. Listron's metallic frame emitted a soft hum as it processed the situation, analyzing possibilities.

"Perhaps," Listron began, its robotic voice filled with clarity, "we can find an alternate source of electricity for Lori's phone. If we provide her with a sustainable solution, she may be willing to part with the crystal shard."

Ribbon's eyes widened with realization. "You're right, Listron! We just need to find a way to give Lori constant power while also acquiring the crystal shard."

The trio scanned their surroundings, searching for materials to fashion an innovative solution. Just a few steps away, they spotted fallen branches and pieces of wood, scattered across the forest floor.

"I have an idea," Listron declared, its metallic body whirring with excitement. "If we construct a water wheel and place it right under this magnificent waterfall, the rushing water will create a perpetual spin. We can harness the rotational energy to generate electricity, providing Lori with a sustainable source to power her phone."
