Slowly, I stood, and I grabbed an outfit, heading to the bathroom. I no longer felt safe changing in my own bedroom because of that damn camera. I locked the bathroom door, and sunk to the ground. "I don't want to go, but I promised Julie I would be there... and god only knows how Wally would react."  I thought to myself. I grabbed my clothes and swiftly got changed.

I went to the mirror with a sigh. I glanced around me, unsure of what to do now.

Eventually I settled on going to the party. Just then, I heard my phone ringing. I peeked out of the bathroom, glancing towards the origin of the repeated ring. The living room..? Someone was calling. I cautiously stepped out and started to head towards the rotary phone. Taking the small handheld device out of the holster, I hear a slow, monotone voice coming through...

"Hello..? Helloooo?~" Wally asks. I put the phone to my ear, before speaking.

"O-oh, hey Wally! How are you?"

"I'm good. Everyone's here at Julie's party... Where are you?"

"I'm still getting ready, but I'll be there soon, promise!"

"Okay." There's a slight pause. "Oh, and.. neighbor?"

I hesitate. "...y-yeah?"

"I dont want to see anything pulled from you. At least, anything unexpected, y'know?"

Another pause.

"I want everyone to have a good time. Remember, our secrets stay secret. And if that means hiding a body or two.. I wont hesitate." The ending of his statement was incredibly omnious.. was he planning to kill me? Or someone else? Has he done so already? Only time could tell.. He suddenly interrupted my train of thought with an upbeat, friendlier tone. At least, as upbeat as he could make it through that eerie voice of his. "Well, see you soon, Neighbor!"

He hung up then. I stared at the phone as it stayed in the palm of my shaky hand... He was terrifying. For such a charming, innocent little guy, I never knew the very face of Playfellow could be so psychotic. Despite the warnings on the website, I still was naive enough to trust him. How stupid of me.

But, I might as well get used to his behavior. Not like I have a way to leave this accursed neighborhood...

"Stupid curse, or whatever, now I'm trapped here...." I mutter underneath my breath, as I adjust my hair a little. I step outside, hesitantly making my way through the neighborhood. Home sat tall and mighty on a small hill in the center of the neighborhood, staring me down as I made my way closer. A small part of me didnt fear Home... moreover hated it.

Even if it was just a house, it was so smug and playful, and seeing as to how many secrets there are buried in the code of the neighborhood, Lord only knows how violent and dangerous the thing actually was. With a sigh, I walked up and saw Julie and Wally outside, along with the rest of the gang.

Assorted, blinding amount of neon reds, yellows, and blues aside, I walked up to Julie with a smile, as I waved. "Hey, Julie." She turns to me, and her expression lights up instantly. She runs up to me, giving me a tight hug.

"Oh my gosh, Neighbor!! You made it!!!" I give a small, nervous chuckle.

"Well, I did promise it... and I don't break promises." Julie lets go of me, and turns to the group.

"Everyone!! This is the new neighbor: Y/N!!"

I stared, freezing up a bit as everyone's eyes laid on me. I panicked slightly, unsure of what to say, what to do. I felt my throat getting a bit dry. If I still had one, that was. I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing escaped me for a second. It's so simple, just say 'hi', it's not that hard! Think, Y/N, think!! Syllables, yes, that's right! Syllables... and pronunciation. Think back to first grade... Uggghh, SHIT. Just say hello! What is wrong with me today?!-

"Neighbor. Say hello." Wally spoke slowly. I jumped slightly, nodding, before shyly bringing my hand up to wave. I give a small, weak smile to the group.

"....hi...." I said softly, my voice just above a whisper. A yellow sum character, with a colorful dress smiled widely, and walked up to me.

"Awh, dont be shy, neighbor! My name's Sally, though I'm sure you knew that already~" She spoke playfully, striking a pose. Ironic that I did already know that, but I wasn't going to bring that up. Julie giggles, and Barnaby walks up, with a small smile. He tipped his bowler hat at me, giving a playful wink. "Greetin's, neighbah! Nice ta meetcha... again."

I chuckle awkwardly, still anxious, though glad nobody was judging me. I thought I was sweating bullets, but when I went to wipe my brow, there was nothing... Oh, right. I'm a puppet. Whoops.

An orange, mailman-looking character warmly drags another character up to me, and the orange mailman waves with a smile. I recognized them to be Eddie and Frank respectively. Frank rolls his eyes, but somehow manages a smirk as his gaze returns to me, his arms crossed.

Howdy waves from afar, seemingly chatting with a mostly red bird, that's just about the same height as him, whom I recognized as Poppy. She gives a glance and a shy, yet warm, motherly wave as well. They continue chatting.

Overall, the party was a blast, even with Home's condescension. Everything went well, nobody got murdered, and we all had a great time. I could've sworn I saw Eddie and Frank do some kinda tango but I guess I was seeing things. Oh well.

We all headed home and decided to get some rest, as the welcome party had gotten us all wound up and now we were exausted. As I laid in bed, I almost immediately fell asleep. The silk pillows felt like giant marshmallows beneath my head  and I kid you not I thought I was laying on a cloud. It felt like heaven. Though by the time I realized my window was open, My eyes were pretty much closed.

(hey mini a/n but for this bottom bit ima switch to a 3rd person kinda thing)

As Y/N lay in their bed, sound asleep, a cooling breeze swayed the curtains, the air smelling of cedar and lavender. It was like a drug, some kind of nicotine for their nostrils. If they still had them. Despite being dead asleep, they thought they felt eyes on them from the pitch black void outside, illuminated by nothing but a cardboard moon cutout and a few fairy lights to represent stars. Though a silent, echoing sound was heard soon after Y/N had just slipped into the bliss of deep sleep.
