“Ah! Affogato look! The leaves are turning red!”
Caramel Arrow slightly squeezed Affogato’s hand as she pointed towards the trees. Affogato chuckled as she did this, quite fascinated and endeared by her sudden childishness. They had decided to take a walk through the park today, and it was pretty clear that the autumn weather had started to set in. Besides seeing red and orange everywhere, a huge indicator for the season was how everyone was dressed up in jackets and jerseys.
“Hm…you’re correct. The weather is also getting colder now, isn’t it?” He smiled softly at her as he spoke. “By the way…didn’t I tell you to dress warmly today? Why aren’t you wearing a scarf? Aren’t you cold?”
Caramel Arrow waved her hand dismissively at her boyfriend. “I’m fine, I don’t get cold that easily.”
“Tch, I don’t believe that one bit.”
Caramel Arrow just let out a small huff. Affogato always seemed to put so much care into making sure she was happy, healthy and comfortable. He spoiled her rotten on special days and was a very dedicated boyfriend. It got a little overbearing at times, but it still warmed her heart to know that someone cared for her so much. But it wasn’t a lie to say that Caramel Arrow was not used to the affection.
“Affogato, you’re sweet.” Caramel Arrow leaned forward and kissed Affogato on the cheek. “But I’m not cold, honest.”
Affogato pouted and sighed. “I honestly don’t understand how you aren’t cold dear. The weather gets more freezing every day.”
“Well if you’re so cold we can go get some hot chocolate at the nearby cafe.”
“Mmm, I’d rather prefer to get coffee.”
“You drink way too much caffeine!” Caramel Arrow jabbed, a smirk creeping on her lips.
“Now you’re nagging me? I’d listen to you if you had listened to me and put on a scar-”
“I don’t need to! I told you I don’t really get c-”
As if nature was mocking her, just at that very moment a gust of cold wind blew through the air and cut Caramel Arrow off. She shivered, and instinctively crossed her arms. Caramel Arrow suddenly realized what she had done but Affogato, with observational skills sharper than a hawk, spoke before she could even process.
“See! I told you you’d get cold!” Caramel Arrow looked away, cheeks slightly flushed. “Okay you're right…it’s kind of cold…but I’m not that cold!”
Affogato just laughed at her response. “You know you’re so cute when you’re stubborn.” He stopped, then took off the large black scarf he was wearing and gently held it out for Caramel Arrow. “Here my darling, cover yourself with this.”
“Affogato I don’t need-” Caramel Arrow began to protest, but then she saw the look in Affogato’s eyes - full of genuine concern and adoration. She sighed and softly smiled. “Thank you, Affogato. You’re really…the sweetest person I ever met.”
Affogato’s heart melted at her words. “Y-You’re quite welcome…” He watched joyfully as she put on the large scarf. It was warm, and Caramel Arrow recognised the scent of Affogato’s sweet perfume. Her heart began to feel all fluttery. Something about wearing your lover’s clothes…was surprisingly nice.
“But hey Affogato…aren’t you cold? You are more sensitive to the weather than I am.”
“Hm?” Affogato tilted his head at her question. “Well if I’m being honest…I’m freezing to death right now.” Caramel Arrow gave him a painless pinch on the cheek. “You idiot! Why would you give me your scarf if you’re so cold?”
“Isn’t that what a good boyfriend does?”
Affogato’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Ha! I got it!” Caramel Arrow stared at him in confusion. Affogato came closer to her, and gently pulled the scarf off. Then he wrapped that scarf and her neck…and his neck too!?
“A-Affogato wha-”
“See! Now we both won’t be cold!” Affogato shot her a witty grin and Caramel Arrow just laughed. “It’s cute but…people are going to think we’re stupid if we walk around like this.”
Affogato just hummed. “Even if we didn’t they would still be correct.” Caramel Arrow blushed as he suddenly reached out a hand and grasped her cheek. “Because you are stupid and I’m stupidly in love with you.”
“Awww Affogato! That’s so charm- wait what was that first part again?”
After their walk in the park, they settled at the local cafe to get something hot to drink in the cold weather. They got quite a few stares from people, but they didn’t even notice, so caught up in how much they loved each other to even notice
