Prologue

She was just a little girl when she watched the building go up in flames. She wondered if her parents ever made it out. Later she found out they didn't.

Yet she never once cried about it. Not when she could smell the burned flesh of her parents at the morgue. Not at the funeral. Not when she was sent to the orphanage. Never once had she shed a tear.

"Emotionless", they'd call her. "Freak".

She began to wonder if she was the weirdo she was always called at school. She began to believe the rumors about her. That she wasn't human. That she was a robot. That she could turn her feelings off. And never turn it on even if she wanted to.

She wondered where her "abilities" would come in handy. What job she could get.

Her PE teacher always said she was strong, a "bright one". That she could always escape obstacles.

So she joined the army. Went under a code name. As soon as she put on the balaclava, she never took it off again. She wanted to stay invisible. Keep people guessing. Keep people on the edge of their seat.
She wanted them to be scared of her.

To be frightened of the name Six.
