Cadence ran to catch up. "Lucius! Where are you going?"
Lucius ignored her, continuing to walk. "You don't care about me. I asked you to dance with me, but you're so obsessed with Ian..." He sighed. "If you want Ian more than me, then fine. Have him. But if you ever cross me, Cadence... I will destroy him."
"It isn't a competition!" Cadence said, grabbing his arm to stop him. "Ian just needs more attention because he is a child. If you had just given me a moment, I would've joined you on the dance floor-"
"This isn't just about this time," Lucius said, shaking his head. "You choose him over me every time."
"Because you can take care of yourself! Ian can't!" Cadence exclaimed. "Lucius, be reasonable-"
Lucius scoffed. "No. I am being reasonable. Have a good life, Cadence. Relax... You can keep the boy. But he has no potential. Ever since we scolded him for fighting that boy, he's been useless. I thought he might be good at combat, but he's just a useless brat. If you want him, good luck with that. Goodbye Cadence."
Cadence blinked. "No! Wait-"
Lucius pulled his arm free and disappeared.
Cadence froze, tearing up. "Luc..."
She leaned against the wall and cried, shaking slightly with each sob. She loved Lucius... She had no idea about his dark side. She hated to admit it, but Ian severely lacked potential. Would he survive without Lucius's protection? What if...? No. She couldn't think like that. She had to have faith everything would work out if she was to keep herself strong for Ian. She took a deep breath and walked over to a maid.
"Feed Ian and put him to bed for me please. I'll be in my room," Cadence said softly. "Thank you."
She walked off.Ian relaxed as he felt Lucius leave the dimension. His tormentor was finally gone... Would he be okay now? Would things change?
