"uhh hey" I said. he looked at me confused for a second before he said hi back.
"do you mind if I borrow a change of clothes?" I asked. "of course not vee, take whatever you need" he replied. The tension was thick and if anyone would walk into his room they would immediately be able to tell.
"why are you up here and not downstairs at the party?" I asked him, normally I wouldn't have been nosey but it was kinda out of character for him to miss a party in his own home. "just wasn't feeling it I guess" he said.
"oh, well okay. thanks for the clothes by the way, you didn't have to give me anything" I said. "it's calm, you know my room is always open if you ever need anything" He said, pressing play on his tv and relaxing back into his bed.
Considering this was the first time the two had talked in person since they broke up, vee thought it went well but it was awkward. It felt like they both just weren't there and she wanted a redo, so she planned to "bump" into him tomorrow and have an actual normal conversation when she wasn't so drunk.
After she left the room she went back downstairs and found jobe and adonis again. She sat and talked to the two younger boys for a bit before she went to find someone else she knew. After about 5 minutes of walking around she felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around to be met by elijah.
"long time no see" he said. Vee had ghosted him after the first time they met so she wondered how she would manage to get out of this situation. "eliii hii how are you?" she decided to go with the I totally forgot excuse if he did decide to ask." i'm cool, what about you?" he said
"i'm good" She said. "I read about the breakup and i'm so sorry" he said. "it's fine don't even apologize" vee said. The two indulged in a king conversation for mostly the rest of the night. Although vee was dodging elijah at first, she didn't really mind his company so she planned to text him later tomorrow.
When the party was finally over, the group of friends did their best to help clean up some of the mess left behind before leaving so wesley could drive them back to vee's house. After arriving home everyone immediately went their separate ways and planned on going to sleep for the night.
The next morning when vee woke up she took some medicine donnie had left her and scrolled on her phone abit before getting ready. Once she was done she grabbed her keys and headed off to help ansu clean up the rest of the mess, but not before stopping at starbucks for some breakfast.
When she arrived she unlocked the door with the house key ansu had given her and there stood none other than pedri. "omg pedri hi!" she said. pedri chuckled abit before saying hi and giving her a hug. "I see we're both on cleanup crew" he said. "it's the least I can do for you guys since I practically forced half the house to dance battle me" vee said, causing both of them to laugh.
"you can help clean the kitchen, I think ferran is in there but i'm not sure" he said. "alright cya later" vee said before grabbing a trash bag and heading in the direction of the kitchen. When she reached the kitchen ferran was in fact not in there but ale was, vee took this as the perfect opportunity to clear the air and have an actual conversation with the man.
"goodmorning" she said. "hey! goodmorning"ale replied, rather cheery. She began cleaning some of the cups off the floor and thought about what to say next but before she could do that ale spoke first. "how's your mom? did she get the gift I sent her?" he said. "she's amazing, and she loved the necklace. I actually don't think i've seen her take it off and she wouldn't stop talking about it for weeks." she says.
"I spent food money on it so i'm glad she's able to enjoy it" he said. "my mom misses you. says she won't be able to make sancocho without you being there to compliment her" ale said. "i'll definitely be at her table anytime she wants to make it for me again. Her food is absolutely delicious" vee said. "i'm sure she'd love that" ale said.
The two dove into comfortable conversation, having their silence every now and then but nonetheless helping make every room spotless. Once they were all done cleaning, vee went back home and picked up the boys so they could go pick up soph and kaia to go see a movie.
jude and jobe were going back to england first their national duties in 2 days so vee wanted to make the most with the little time she had with them and her brothers. Dinner was great and the group decided to go out to dinner last minute. They talked about the most random things to the most serious conversations. One of the random ones was public restrooms and a serious one was divorced parents and their kids.
Everyone who sat at that table was full of intriguing different thoughts, yet they were all pretty much like the same person. They ended their night building a blanket fort and having a movie night/sleepover in vee's basement. On one side jobe and adonis were snuggled up under vee and wesley and jude each had their own space. soph and gavi had their corner and so did kaia and her girlfriend.
They slept through the night peacefully before being interrupted by a doordash driver who rung the doorbell. wesley and jude had ordered food for themselves and nobody else. it was a very petty moment in their history but they moved past it.
