Friend or Foe?

Chapter 6 - DJ's Inferno

DJ closed the door behind him, placed the box on his bed. He sat down in front of the door, blocking people from coming in and seeing him in tears.
Those same feelings DJ had grown so familiar of were back once again. He couldn’t accept what he had heard from Willow In the last while, it just wasn’t true… it had to be a lie, it just had to be.

DJ, still in denial at this evening’s events, got changed and went to sleep.
Maybe tomorrow will bring some new found hope.




DJ awoke in a cold sweat and heavy breathing. He composed himself and checked the time, it was 4 AM. He sat up to his water from the bedside table, but his glass wasn’t there. He must have forgotten to get one last night, considering that he went straight to his room after his discussion with Willow. DJ decided to get out of bed and make his way to the kitchen for some water.

Once he had quietly made his way to the kitchen in the pitch black, he flicked on the lights, blinding himself in the process, he sighed and kept moving to the fridge. He grabbed a glass from a cupboard and the bottle of cold water from the fridge. He finished pouring out the water when he heard a voice, it was loud and surrounded him.

“Use….   Book….”

“Who the fuck was that?” DJ whispered to himself.

The voice spoke again, “Silence…”
The voice was raspy, it was a grumbling, deep voice and sounded like whoever it was, might be choking by trying to talk.
DJ was still, not daring to move a muscle out of pure fear and confusion.
“Use… Book….     Twenty…..   Fourth….”

“Wh- Who are you? What do you want from me?”
DJ looked around, trying to find the source of this voice, but to no avail.

“Use… Book…. Twenty Fourth…”
DJ felt something roll down his face, from his nose to his lip. A nosebleed? He felt where there was blood and looked at his finger.

It wasn’t blood.
It was the same ooze that the Monster was made of.
Was this real or was it all in his head?

Sorry for the lack of longer chapters recently, I've been caught up with getting back to school and now I'm in a week of exams. Expect some quality (and longer) chapters starting late October, hopefully!
