I save Jarens number in my phone just before I text him.

VIOLET: Hi, it's Violet here, I just wanted to text you, so that you have my number, hope that's okay :)

JAREN: Hi Violet, yeah of course that's okay, see you later at dinner

VIOLET: See you later :)

At 6:15 pm I am ready and make my way downstairs to the dining room.

I stand in front of the door for a moment, take a long deep breath and then walk trough the door, seeing Willa and Page already there, chatting, not noticing me yet.

We are still alone at the moment, no sight of the King, Queen, Prince or Princess.

Walking away from the door I look around again, letting it sink in that I am really here.

„Oh, look who is here," Paige says, I just sigh.

„Leave it, Paige, please, I don't wanna fight with you right now," I say, not looking in her direction.

„Wait, you two know each other?" Willa asks, totally confused.

„We are cousins," Paige and I say in unison.

„What?" Willa says, goobsmacked.

„Me and Violet are cousins, even tho she is just here because she can't live at home any longer with her perfect little family," Paige points out.

„Leave it, Paige," now I turn in her direction, „And for your information, my family is anything but perfect, but you don't know that, do you? Because you don't even care about us or me, so don't pretend that you know anything, because you clearly don't!" I turn straight away after saying this.

Paige scoffs, which makes my annoyance rise, but I won't do anything about it now, not on my first day.

After 10 minutes the family walks in and takes their seats.

Jaren waves me to him and I make my way to where he is sitting.

„This is where I always sit, so you know where you have to fill my glass or where to stand when I am not here," he says and I nod.

„Good, I see that someone filled my glass already, so we just have to wait for the food to arrive," he finishes and I take my place, a few feet away from his chair, just like he said.
